Children love hearing their own name — and you can use that natural interest to encourage listening, attention and connection.

Try adding their name into a familiar song, rhyme or playful instruction:

“Emma, Emma, clap your hands…”

At Music Minds, our educators understand what to look for as babies move through their developmental milestones.
Our cognitive brain development programme uses age appropriate music, sound, movement and purposeful play to support skills such as listening, coordination, visual development, social connection and participation all while giving babies opportunities to explore and develop at their own pace.

DO TRY THIS AT HOME
A little rhythm game with a lot going on behind the scenes.
Clap a short, simple rhythm and ask your child to copy it. Start easy, then change the pattern as they get the hang of it.
Then swap roles and let them be the leader.
While it feels like a game, activities like this can encourage listening, memory, rhythm, focus and turn-taking all through active, playful participation.
No special instruments needed. Just two hands and a few minutes together.
