My 6yr old is hilarious...

My son struggled a lot in Grade R. He used to stutter and lost focus in class. For his Grade 1, I registered him at our nearest primary school and cancelled the registration after recalling a year where my nephew was failed due to being slow and losing focus in class. He repeated Grade 1 and I refused to let my son go through that. I found a tutoring school offering one-on-one schooling and enrolled him there. The school is registered with Impak (one-on one learning provider registered with Basic Education Department). He started Grade 1 there last year and was 5 years old. The one-on-one attention changed his life. His stopped stuttering and had the best grades. He was the youngest in class of 3 students i.e they were only 3 in a class. He passed Grade 1 and went on to Grade 2 this year at 6 years of age. He is now referred to as a smart kid at school, of which that reference looking at his past is a "miracle". The one-on-one schooling changed my son's life. I am sure you are sitting out there as a parent with the same dilemma and wanted to tell you not to worry. There are other ways of learning and hope you find this message useful. I up-skilled myself a lot to also help him from home. Upskilling myself came easily as I have in Education, Learning and Training for 20 years. The upskilling was also a blessing as I managed to register a one-on-one centre for kids living around my area in Roodepoort. The registered centre is called Kids Learning Centre website www.kidslearningcentre.co.za. This school for me is my purpose and my passion. I hope it gives another child who was like my son a second chance.
