Yesterday, Mandeni Campus had the honour of hosting representatives from B*W Germany to explore opportunities for collaboration in the implementation of the Process Controller Occupational Programme at uMfolozi TVET College.
The B*W Project Manager, Ms Lea Hillenbraud outlined the purpose of the visit, which was to gain a better understanding of the College and identify ways in which B*W could support the successful implementation of the programme.
Acting Principal, Ms Elsie du Toit, highlighted that Mandeni Campus was selected due to its strategic location near Durban and surrounding industries and because the Process Controller programme had previously been offered under the Nated curriculum.
The discussions further emphasised the importance of developing skills in the water sector, particularly in a water-scarce country such as South Africa.
Acting Deputy Principal: Academic, Mr Ndumiso Majozi also expressed keen interest in the Train-the-Trainer initiative, recognising its potential to equip lecturers with the expertise required to deliver industry-relevant training.
The visit concluded with a tour of the Campus Training Centre, reaffirming a shared commitment to strengthening occupational programmes and creating meaningful opportunities for both staff and students.
