Ash & Lacy South Africa (Pty) Ltd are proud to introduce our new range of Class 4 Ashfix roofing fasteners. The C4 Ashfix range has been specifically developed for the South African roofing industry and has evolved through extensive research and development and industry experience.
As a result Ash & Lacy South Africa are able to offer unrivalled product quality and performance with additional colour headed options, providing the ultimate fixing solution for any roofing or cladding application. All our products undergo rigorous testing and consequently offer exceptional performance and value, supported by best in class service and technical support.
This high quality mechanically plated carbon steel range of fasteners is fully compliant with the Class 4 requirements of both the South African SANS 1273-2011 & Australian AS 3566.2-2002 Standards. The C4 Ashfix range is independently tested by SGS which is an internationally accredited third party testing authority and all products are issued with full test certificates.
The C4 Ashfix range is manufactured with a standard 5/16 hexagonal head with an integrated 14mm fl**ge which reduces the risk of washer inversion and improves pull-over performance and stability. The hexagonal heads are branded with the AL4 head-marking providing complete traceability for the duration of the fasteners service life.
The C4 Ashfix range is fitted with a standard low carbon non-conductive DEKS EPDM cut washer and is fully compatible with the Bluescope Steel & SAFAL Steel product range. The fasteners can also be upgraded to an aluminium bonded low carbon EPDM washer on request.
Our dual thread range incorporate an enlarged diameter upper thread which provides additional support to the crown of pierced fix roof sheets supporting loads up to 120kg. The unique shank-guard provides additional protection to the shank of the fastener ensuring that the removal of burrs from the steel roof sheet and preventing damage to the fasteners coating.
Our drill-points and thread configurations have been optimised for local conditions ensuring superior & consistent on-site performance.
Our concealed fix wafer-head fasteners are manufactured with the much sought-after square drive head improving onsite installation times and reducing wear and tear on bits.

Colour matching your fasteners to the steel roof sheets has never been easier with Ash & Lacy’s comprehensive range of push-on colour matched caps that are capable of concealing the conventional cut washer option as well as the bonded washer options.
We are also very excited to announce our unique inherently moulded nylon head option. This option is a first for the South African market and provides unrivalled corrosion protection to the heads of our C4 Ashfix carbon steel fasteners providing a welcome solution in C5 corrosivity environments where Bluescope Steel & SAFAL Steel prohibit the use of stainless steel fasteners with their Zincalume, Zincal, Colorbond & Colorplus products.
These bi-hexagonal non-corrosive colour matched nylon polymer heads are inherently moulded to the 5/16 hex head providing a high performance and aesthetic solution in high corrosivity regions. The high grade nylon polymer contains UV stabilisers and is incredibly robust capable of withstanding high levels of torque during installation.
To complement our C4 Ashfix range of fasteners Ash & Lacy South Africa also offers a range of high quality GCA Butyl Tapes & sealants. GCA is a high performance butyl tape suitable for use in steel and aluminium roofing systems. It has been carefully formulated to provide a superior service life.
