π Bonding Time with My Mini-Me π
Hey Dad! Here's a fantastic weekend activity to strengthen the bond with your little one β Dressing Up! ππ
What your child will gain from this fun adventure:
π Exploring various clothing styles.
π€ Imagining and acting out grown-up roles.
π Enjoying playful role-playing.
Here's what you'll need:
π A variety of outfits - think shoes, hats, dresses, work gear, accessories, and more!
π οΈ Some props - perhaps a mini-shovel for gardening or a bowl and wooden spoon for cooking.
π A bag or laundry basket to keep all the dress-up treasures organised.
Let's dive into the steps:
1οΈβ£ Dressing up
Unveil the dress-up box to your little ones, saying, "Let's see what's in here!"
Encourage them to pick out clothes, discuss each item, and try them on.
Ask thought-provoking questions like, "If you dress like this, what kind of job would you have?"
2οΈβ£ Pretending to be grown-up
Lightly nudge (but don't push) your kids to act out their chosen roles when dressed up.
Lead the way by getting dressed up yourself and stepping into a new character.
For instance, don some overalls and grab a spade, saying, "Today, I'm a gardener!" Invite your children to join you outside the house.
Ask open-ended questions like, "I'm planting spinach and beans in my garden. What should I plant next?" Let your children decide how far they want to take the game, considering their developmental stage and interests.
π« Create unforgettable memories with your little one through imaginative play. ππ

Hey Dad! Are you ready to play and learn with your child?
πΆ Turn empty bottles into musical magic! π΅ Grab six glass bottles, a jug of water, and some spoons for a fun sound experiment. π₯€π§
Tap into creativity as you explore the world of music with your kids! π₯πΆ
What you will need:
β’ A set of six large, empty glass bottles
β’ A jug of water and a cup
β’ Wooden or metal spoons
Steps:
1. Making sound with empty bottles
β’ Put out six empty glass bottles in a row on the table.
β’ Blow across an open bottle to make a whistling sound.
β’ Ask your children to do the same with the other bottles.
β’ Give each child a wooden spoon to tap the bottles with.
β’ Let them listen to and talk about the sound this makes.
2. Adding water to the bottles
β’ Tell your children that you are going to add water to the 1st bottle. Ask them if they think this will change the sound or not.
β’ Ask a child to help you measure then pour half a cup of water into the 2nd bottle.
β’ Let your children take turns to blow across the bottle and then tap it with a spoon.
β’ Ask them to describe and compare these sounds with the sounds they made when the bottle was empty. (The sound gets higher as we add water.)
β’ Repeat the steps for the other four bottles, adding half a cup more water each time.
3. Making music
β’ Once all the bottles have water in them, give your children turns to play a tune by blowing across the tops of the bottles or tapping them in order, up and down the row.
β’ Next, let them make up their own tunes by blowing across or tapping the bottles in different sequences.
β’ If you can, record their tunes on your phone and play them back to your children.
