I am super excited that I will be running the Practical Chemistry workshops at Exel Labs. There are still some spaces left.
Congratulations to all my AS and A Level students who sent me their results. There was no-one ungraded, a number of A grades and everyone achieved grades which help qualify for Matric Exemption!
If anyone wishes to improve their grades and rewrite in May/June, I have a few slots available.
We now wait patiently for IGCSE Results on Thursday 15th.
Once IG results are released, I am sure that students will be looking forward to starting AS Level. I still have some spaces in my AS level group as well as slots for individual tuition.
I am also super excited that I will be offering AS Practical classes at Exel Labs. Spaces are rapidly filling up but there are still a few spots left.
If you would like more information please email me [email protected] for more information.
Hi Everyone,
Happy New Year to all of you. I hope 2026 will be a good one for all of us.
I am sure that you are eagerly waiting for Cambridge AS and A Level results on 9 January and IGCSE results release on 15 January.
I will be starting my online tuition Chemistry classes on Monday 19 January.
I still have spaces in the IGCSE Chemistry Group for students starting the course. I also have spaces in the AS Chemistry group for students who will be starting the course.
I have limited slots available for students who wish to have individual tuition for IGCSE, AS as well as A Level.
The really good news is that I will be running Chemistry Practical Laboratory sessions to prepare students for the Practical examination. These start on 7 February and there are limited spaces left.
If you are interested in more information for any of these opportunities, then please email me. [email protected] or call me 084 580 1281 for more information.
I can't believe that the academic year and exams are once again finally over! I want to thank all my students for their hard work during this year. I am sure that you will all be rewarded for your input when exam results are released (9th Jan AS and A Level and 15th Jan IGCSE). I look forward to good news!
For those of you who are continuing with tuition next year, I am planning for January already and I will start classes in the week beginning 19th January. My schedule is already getting quite full, so please do not forget to reserve your slots in good time.
For any student who is not happy with their results, I will be doing group revision classes to prepare for rewrites in the May June 2025 session. In addition to my normal offering of individual and group tuition, I will be adding some short courses for AS Level Students. Some students may be struggling with Organic Chemistry. So I plan to do a short course covering all of Organic Chemistry. And another shorter course covering all of the Inorganic Chemistry. So watch out for further posts. If you are interested in any of the options I offer please email me [email protected] for more details.
I wish you and your families a happy and relaxed holiday season and for those of you who are taking a break away from home, I wish you safe travelling.

I want to wish all AS Level Chemistry students who are writing their Practical Paper 33 on Tuesday 1st October, good management in this paper.
Remember that time management is the most important aspect that you need to consider.
Please ensure that you construct good tables of results for all questions, including the qualitative analysis questions.
In all quantitative questions, ensure that you include units in your tables.
If you get a titration, remember that burette readings must be to 2 decimal places and you need to get 2 titrations within 0.10 cm3 for finding you average titre.
Also remember that all temperatures must be recorded to 1 decimal place.
Work through the paper as quickly and efficiently as you can. Do all the experiments and complete all the tables for all experiments first. Then go back and do the calculations.
I wish you all the best!

Hamzah Kanji tried to post a review on this page, but was unsuccessful. So he asked me to post this message.
"I had the absolute privilege of being taught by Mrs Hope-Jones during my IGCSE Chemistry course, and I can confidently say she was instrumental in guiding me to achieve an A*. Her teaching style is both engaging and thorough, blending complex concepts with practical examples that made even the most challenging topics seem manageable. Mrs Hope-Jones has a remarkable ability to break down difficult material into digestible parts, ensuring that everyone in the class could follow along. She was always patient with questions and encouraged curiosity, pushing us to think critically and apply our knowledge, not just memorize it. Her dedication extended beyond the classroom, too—she made herself available for extra sessions when I needed them most, and her feedback on practice papers was invaluable. Thanks to her passion for chemistry and commitment to her students, I felt confident and well-prepared going into the exam. If you're looking for a teacher who truly cares about her students' success and can inspire a love for chemistry, Mrs Hope-Jones is the one. I wouldn’t have achieved my A* without her guidance!"

• Hi Ms Hope-Jones! 🩵 It’s so nice to hear from you. Studies are good thank you - I’m starting my honours this week doing Medical Physiology which is very exciting! Your AS organic chemistry lessons prepared me so so so well for first year. 🌙
• I don’t have Facebook, but please post this in your page: Ms Hope-Jones is a thorough, patient tutor who I give full credit to for not only helping me attain an A-symbol in AS Level Chemistry, but preparing me for the vigorous coursework I went on to cover at University! I completed AS in 2020 during lockdown, and I feel inclined to comment on Ms Hope-Jones’ adaptability and drive to ensure her students got the very best out of the tough online teaching circumstances. Her effort and dedication certainly motivated the AS Level group of students to achieve their academic goals. 100% recommend Ms Hope-Jones as a tutor!
