💡🔌Learning in Action💡🔦
Today, our Grade 6 girls had the opportunity to build their very own electrical circuits! There was plenty of laughter, excitement and fun as they explored, experimented and learnt how a circuit works. Learning is always better when you can see it, build it and experience it!🔌💡🔦

🐾 A Special Visit from the K-9 Unit! 🐾
Our girls had a very exciting and informative morning today when three police officers, Warrant Officer Maqolo,
Warrant Officer Puza and Sergeant Zanga accompanied by a very special four-legged member of the K-9 Unit, visited our school.
The officers shared some fascinating information about the important work carried out by the K-9 Unit and explained the different roles that specially trained police dogs perform.
The highlight of the morning was a practical demonstration! A weapon was carefully hidden, and the girls watched with great anticipation as the K-9 officer got to work. It wasn't long before the weapon was successfully located - a wonderful demonstration of the dog's remarkable training, skill and sense of smell. 🐕🦺👮
Our girls were thoroughly captivated by everything they saw and heard, and the visit may even have inspired a few future careers - some enthusiastically announced that they would like to join the K-9 Unit one day!
A sincere thank you to our visiting officers and their K-9 partner for taking the time to educate, inspire and entertain us. It was certainly a morning to remember! 💙🐾

Hannah Lemmer recently competed in the Provincial Cross Country Championships in East London, where she produced an outstanding performance in the Girls’ Under 13 section. Running the challenging 3km distance in windy conditions, Hannah finished second overall with an impressive time of 11 minutes 25 seconds.
This excellent result has earned Hannah a place at the National Cross Country Championships, which will be held in Johannesburg on Saturday, 5 September 2026.
Balmoral Girls’ Primary School is exceptionally proud of Hannah’s incredible achievement and the dedication, determination and commitment she has shown throughout the season. We wish her every success as she takes on the best young runners in the country at the National Championships!
