We started off on a bumpy 1st and 2nd Terms with parents 'toy-toying' for a proper school building and scholar transport because learners could not cross the river which often gets full during heavy down pours, as we experienced torrential rains during that period, which has disrupted the schooling system immensely. With our capable & courageous team we had to regroup & restrategise on how to tackle the curriculum to ensure stability for effective teaching & learning is in place.

As we close another year, we want to take a moment to extend our heartfelt gratitude to each individual, group or company who made it all possible for us to reach the end of the year with much achievement/s and zeal.

Amidst us making endless efforts to wrap up the 3rd Term, yesterday & today due to COVID-19 regulations, both Group 1 & 2 learners celebrated Heritage Day to inculcate the culture of tolerance & diversity of beliefs & traditions by remembering the cultural heritage of the many cultures that make up the population of South Africa. Greetings to you all our FB followers. The page has been dormant since the start of the novel COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, however there are numerous activities occurred within & few outside the school premises.
We wish to keep you posted with what was happening amidst the dreadful Coronavirus which saw the world being devastated & human-kind population threatened. We are still losing family members, friends, colleagues & partners, but we cannot stop praying that our Lord Almighty to be merciful to the people and bring the spread of the virus to an absolute halt, so that we everything can be back to normal yet again.
Schools have been closing & opening disrupting the pre-set education calendar & the Curriculum can't be completed thus creating a situation where learners do not achieve the desired outcomes as expected.
We are currently living in uncertain times with the outbreak of COVID-19. During times like this, our faith can also be challenged, and it can be hard to see where God fits in with this new normal.

We need to ensure that we pull together some of our favorite prayers, poems, inspirational quotes and reflections to provide hope to us and our loved ones during this time. While reading messages of hope, we need to take some time to quietly reflect on the words as well as the emotions they bring out into every individual.

The past1 & half year has been marked with reflection and change;
some days feel good and others feel strange.
We’ve learned to work differently;
and love more unconditionally.
We try to tune out the stress;
but sometimes life still feels like a mess.
We find ways to turn negatives into good;
and learn new skills that we thought we never could.
We find ways to travel to less congested places;
and we meet our friends with covered faces (masks).
It has been filled with opportunities;
and we’ve tried to exercise and strengthen our immunity.
2020 & 2021 hasn’t been like we expected;
but we’ve found new ways to stay connected.
We must not forget to pray and always be kind;
try to stay positive and learn to unwind~Mercy Health

In the meantime to survive we need to practice COVID-19 non-pharmaceutical interventions: 1) Engineering e.g. ventilation, spacing; 2) Administrative e.g. screening, hand hygiene, cough etiquette, regular cleaning; 3) Personal protective equipment: e.g. face masks/shields, visors

We need not to despair & be desponded. We MUST live by the words from the song from Bob Marley~ "Don't worry 'bout a thing, cause every little thing's gonna be alright..."

disadvantaged learners;
* Mayfield Square Marketing for donating Back-to-School packs;
* ANC Women's League (Ward 26) for donation sanitary towels;
* Colgate-SA for donating toothbrushes & toothpaste to the
Foundation phase learners;
* GDE & all its officials for their constant support & for introduction
of Youth Brigades, Presidential Youth Employment Initiative &
Education/General School Assistants programmes to help us to
cope with the Coronavirus challenges; and last, but not least
* Young stars which were introduced to our school, and have been
a pillar of our strength as a school ever since. Without you all we
couldn't have achieved the objectives mandated to us. Your
efforts, hardwork, dedication is highly appreciated. There is no
amount of words that can display our appreciation for your
contributions. The entire school community will forever cherish
the love for the school & your care for our learners. We wish that
the programme of having youth in our schools can be sustained
forever.

On Sunday 04 July 2021 We were invited to a Shova-kalula bicycle handover ceremony held at the Department of Roads & Transport Regional Office, in Benoni. In attendance was the myself, Mr. Ngubeni N (Newly elected SGB Chairperson) and Mr. Mncube RL (Newly elected SGB Teacher wing & Bicycle Deputy Co-ordinator)~ SEE PICS

On Sunday 18 July 2021, a handful number of parents volunteered to clean the school in celebrating Mandela day & honouring 67 minutes for Mandela.~SEE PICS

Our year started with a bang. Since it is #2020 we are doubling our efforts....( willing)
Our Athletes brought more medals than any other year from the Daveyton Cluster Athletics Championships.
A word of appreciation goes to the SGB for making it possible, all the participants, the Sports Committee at large & staff members for their support & patience. We are looking forward for other victories as we are moving towards the Benoni Cluster Athletics Championships & beyond.

Late post:-
On Saturday, 03 August 2019 the school experienced 'thunder' ~(umdumo) when Mdumeni Primary School from Mpumalanga visited us to promote school sport on soccer & netball challenge. It was a fun-filled experience for both learners as well as the teachers. Our SGB also blessed the occasion ensuring safety & security throughout the event. We thank the Sports Committee for pulling through a well organised event, SGB and other staff members for their support to ensure a successful day.

As we wrap up Mandela month Women's Network & Men for Change, Putfontein SAPS, Social Crime, Communication, Sector managers, VEC, EMPD, CSF (Community Safety Forum) in partnership with SANLAM visited the school as part of 67 minutes for Mandela to handover school shoes, socks, shirts & trousers to the needy learners of our institution.
A word of appreciation is forwarded to all our partners in education who made the day a success. Their contribution also re-affirms the call by Government of the day i.e. "To make education a societal issue".
