Pringle House Eco School

Pringle House Eco School Child-centred, eco-conscious education🏫💚 Ages 24 months to Grade 7. Small & multi-grade classes. The school has grown rapidly during its first years.

Pringle House was established in Pringle Bay in January 2008 as a direct response to the educational needs of children based in Rooi Els, Pringle Bay, Betty’s Bay and Kleinmond. The “Pringle House Educational System aims to provide a holistic and integrated system that focuses on the learners’ mental, emotional and physical needs. It is quality education that develops the total person and provides

them with the necessary skills, tools and information to cope with and be successful in the “School of Life”. Our school offers the advantages of a small group of children who each receive individual attention from experienced teachers and helpers. Our teachers are genuinely interested in lovingly expanding the consciousness of each child at all levels at a pace and in a manner best suited to that child. We provide a planned and varied educational program, including training in language, maths and science. Pringle House operates according to the Western Cape school terms. Each child is assessed regularly throughout the year to monitor their progress and parents will receive a mid- and end-of-year report. Thank you for your interest. We look forward to hearing from you.

Over the past three weeks, our school - from Grade R to Grade 7 - has been heading out to Harold Porter Botanical Garden.

• Our Grade Rs explored the environment through sensory experiences, using sight, touch, sound and smell.
• Our Grade 1-3s dived into the topic of biodiversity in the water.
• Our Grade 4-7s learned all about habitats, exploring the different environments plants and animals need to survive and thrive.

A huge thank you to Harold Porter Botanical Gardens for hosting our learners!

What a special weekend away for our Pringle House families. 🌿✨

Our annual School Family Camp was filled with laughter, connection and adventure. Families came together to camp under the stars while our children enjoyed a variety of fun, enriching activities thoughtfully planned by our incredible teachers.

From making delicious Stok brood over the fire and playing in the hot tubs, to an exciting evening nature walk led by an experienced snake and reptile handler, every activity encouraged curiosity & connection with the natural world.

There was plenty of excitement with our family “Boeresports” races, a fascinating bee talk and craft session (where many questions were asked), and even a magical nighttime Easter egg hunt. 🐰🐣

The weekend gave our children time to explore outdoors (without any tech), quality family time, and the opportunity to build lasting friendships & memories in a safe, nurturing environment.

At Pringle House, learning goes far beyond the classroom. We believe in creating meaningful experiences that help children grow into connected, capable, and environmentally conscious young people. 💚

What an incredible time of learning, exploring, and connection for our Pringle House learners 🌿

Our Grades 1–3 adventurers enjoyed a wonderful outing to Intaka Island, where they explored the beauty of nature up close. From a peaceful boat ride around the island to a guided walk discovering the many plants and bird species that call this environment home, every moment was filled with curiosity and wonder. Learning about how these species support and protect our ecosystem sparked such excitement and appreciation for the natural world.

Our Grades 4–7 learners were inspired by an energetic and thought-provoking Story Team Production, where they explored the impact of CO₂ on our environment and atmosphere. Through engaging storytelling, they discovered practical ways to reduce their carbon footprint and learned how small actions (like planting and caring for living plants) can make a big difference for our planet.

These enriching outings are such a special part of our learning journey, bringing education to life, inspiring young minds, and deepening our connection to the world around us. 💚

More highlights from our fantastic Open Day!

Thank you to all the families and community members who joined us at our Pringle House Eco School OPEN DAY.
So much fun was had by all, including a little friendly competition with our family games.
Tasty treats and drinks kept everyone smiling.

A special thank you must go to Ollie's Fine Meats and Sausages for providing us with the most delicious boerewors for our boeri-rolls. We are so grateful for your community spirit and always supporting our school.

The kids learnt some really amazing facts about penguins and what we can do to help them.
It's incredible to see how much our children care about our environment and all living creatures.

What a special day at our special school.
