TNC in collaboration with Tshwane South TVET College and the United States Department of State Mission to South Africa Embassy had the pleasure of hosting Dr Michael Brophy, President of Hudson Valley Community College (USA), as part of an important engagement aimed at strengthening international collaboration in education, skills development, innovation, and student success.

The visit provided a valuable platform to explore opportunities for institutional partnerships, academic exchange, and shared initiatives that will enhance learning experiences and create greater opportunities for students. Through meaningful dialogue and knowledge sharing, both institutions reaffirmed their commitment to developing future-ready graduates and contributing to sustainable community development.

9 August 2026 marks the 70th anniversary of the of the 1956 Women’s March. On that day, more than 20 000 women marched to the Union Buildings to protest the extension of Pass Laws and the Urban Areas Act. The commemoration will be held under the theme: “Empowered Women Empower the Nation” and will be used to pay tribute to the women of 1956 who fought for human rights, gender equality and social justice.

TNC acknowledges all the Women of Courage, Leadership and Impact who form a part of our institution and continue to make a significant contribution to our society.

IMPORTANT NOTICE!!!
CIRCULAR NOTICE NO.9 OF 2026:
TVET College Student Funding and Eligibility Criteria

The circular is aimed at clarifying misinformation that is purported to have been circulating regarding the funding of TVET College students.
The circular primarily addresses two matters:
1. Firstly, although the 2026 NSFAS Funding Eligibility Criteria provides that students registered for three or fewer subjects qualify only for tuition fees and a personal care allowance, NSFAS has decided, as a transitional measure, that affected qualifying students will continue receiving their outstanding allowances for the remainder of the 2026 academic year, with payments commencing from 25 August 2026.
2. Secondly, the circular clarifies the position of gap students; students who were previously funded by NSFAS, interrupted their studies, and later reapplied for funding.
NSFAS has confirmed that these students must satisfy both the financial and academic eligibility requirements before funding can be approved. Following the verification of academic results, funding has been reinstated for qualifying students, while a small number of cases remain under assessment due to outstanding academic records.
