Day 2: SRC INDUCTION TRAINING๐Ÿ˜€ It was lit๐Ÿ”ฅ

๐ŸŽคFacilitated by Mr A. Motlhatlhedi, SRCs were interested to know more about the registration process and systems.

๐Ÿ’ปRegistration System: MIS Official, Ms Vilakazi, a TNC Sosha Campus Alumnu has mentioned that there's an influx of applications that crash the system, however, a new Advanced application system is coming up.

๐Ÿ‘ฉโ€๐ŸŽ“"We want to be an institution of 1st choice, not 2nd choice", said Assistant Director: Registry, Ms Nxumalo.

NCV IT STUDENTS โ—๏ธ Our partner, Cisco representative, Ms N Stuurman (Business Development Manager) mentioned that 96% of Students who complete Cisco certifications courses have higher chances of employment.

Day 1: Student Representative Council Training Programme | 26 April 2024

Principal Thembi Tsibogo of Tshwane North TVET College kickstarts the training emphasizing students to become ambassadors of the college as it suggests a commitment to promote the institution's 5 values:

1. Accountability
2. Integrity
3. Communication
4. Transparency
5. Agile Leadership

Amongst other things in discussion by Acting Deputy Principal, Academic Affairs (Mr Masithi) are:
Bursary allocations, academic performance and how students should conduct themselves.

In support of the Centre of Entrepreneurship & Innovation, we are honoured to have our partner Allan Gray Makers representative, Ms Linda Lindani who provides students with valuable insights about start-up businesses.

Tshwane North TVET College in partnership with the Speaker of the City of Tshwane Cllr Ndzwanana, TNC DP's Ms. Kosani and Mr Lebese accompanied by Partnership & Linkages Manager, Mr Dladla at the official handover of 31 computers and 34 office chairs donated to Winterveldt high school.

The collaborative effort between district education officials, subject advisors, teachers, and school leadership is truly commendable. It underscores the shared commitment of all stakeholders to prioritize education and create an environment where students can thrive.
By working together, pooling resources, and leveraging expertise, these stakeholders can create a nurturing and supportive environment that is conducive to learning and growth. This collaborative approach not only ensures that students receive the best possible education but also fosters a sense of community and shared responsibility for the success of each individual. It's a testament to the power of teamwork and collective action in driving positive change in education.

520 former students from Tshwane North TVET College joined forces at the 2024 JOB FAIR hosted by Chinese-Invested Enterprises in South Africa, held at Gallagher Estate on April 16th.
With over 60 Chinese-Invested enterprises in attendance, this event was a beacon of hope for thousands of job seekers.

2024 NSFAS opening and closing dates for TVET National Student Financial Aid Scheme (NSFAS) applications for the remaining cycles of the 2024 academic year.
โ€ข Trimester 2 to open from the 13th to 31st May 2024.
โ€ข Semester 2 to open from the 09th to 26th July 2024.
โ€ข Trimester 3 to open from the 02nd to 20th September 2024.
It is important to note that a student should apply for the relevant academic cycle which they intend to register in.

Tshwane North TVET college joins fellow South Africanโ€™s today, 21 March 2024, in commemoration of Human Rights Day, under the theme: โ€œThree Decades of Respect for and Promotion of Human Rightsโ€. As we quote, Nelson Mandela once said "To be free is not merely to cast off one's chains, but to live in a way that respects and enhances the freedom of others"

Today, Tshwane North TVET College in partnership with the Gauteng Provincial Legislature hosted a le***an, Gay, Bisexual, Transgender, Intersex, Q***r (LGBTIQ)+ and Prep Workshop at Pretoria campus.
The purpose of the event was to discuss issues surrounding the LGBTIQ+ community. LGBT people in South Africa have the same legal rights as non-LGBT people.

Some of the intriguing topics that were discussed by students are:

1. Hate Crime: a criminal act that is inflicted on an individual.
2. Hate Speech: Enticement and discrimination against an individual.
