We are incredibly proud of our Rietondale staff! Two of our dedicated rugby coaches are not only developing and inspiring our players on the field, but are also making their mark at provincial level as provincial coaches and selectors.

Their passion, expertise and commitment to the game are a true reflection of the Rietondale spirit! We’re proud to have them in our corner and flying the Rietondale flag high!

Curro Midrand hosted the Gauteng Provincial Cross-Country Championships on Saturday, 12 September, in partnership with Gauteng Schools Athletics (GSA).

More than 2,800 athletes from 15 education districts across the province competed for coveted spots on Team Gauteng ahead of the SASA National Cross-Country Championships, scheduled for 3 October 2026 at Curro Midrand in Gauteng.

A total of 120 athletes across various age categories will be selected to represent Gauteng at the national level, making this one of the most significant school sport events on the provincial calendar.

The following Cross Country athletes participated on Saturday, 12 September 2026:
Maliha van Niekerk placed 22nd out of 65
Nikita Hoyi placed 11th out of 40
Luyanda Nxumalo placed 28th out of 65
Kutlwano Moreba placed 20th out of 50
Ronewa Boikanyo placed 32nd out of 70

Well done to all our athletes! You have made us incredibly proud. Keep pushing forward and showing that you are truly tougher than the rest!

Proud of Our Rietondale Poets!

Today, our school celebrates exceptional creative talent! Our learners went head-to-head in the nationwide Netwerk24/AON Creative Writing Competition — a national platform where students across the country expressed their deepest thoughts, emotions, and creativity through Afrikaans poetry.

In the Afrikaans First Additional Language (High Schools) division, two of our very own learners officially ranked among the top writers in the country:

Kamo Moekoena (Grade 10) took 1st place with her poem “Die Masker wat ek geword het”! She was also featured in the newspaper.

Hidya Mohammed (Grade 10) achieved an incredible 4th place with her poem “EENDAG”!

Kamo receives a cash prize as well as a valuable online Graphic/AI course for her achievement, and both learners' poems will be published in a nationwide e-publication later this year!

Rietondale is immensely proud of your poetry and dedication. Congratulations — you are truly making our school's name shine!

Congratulations to our AFRO-KAANS winners!

The Afrikaans Department recently hosted AFRO-KAANS—an initiative that allowed learners to showcase their Afrikaans skills through creative writing, public speaking, and drama performances.

We are incredibly proud of every learner who participated and congratulate all of our winners on their outstanding achievements. Your confidence, creativity, and dedication made this initiative a wonderful success!
