Vacating of on-campus residences

Dear student

The University decided to close the academic programme at all campuses on 6 March 2019 as a result of continued and often violent disruptions at its campuses since early February.

Ensuring the safety of our students, staff and TUT property at all campuses remains management’s first priority. Due to the volatility and unpredictability of the current situation, the University had no choice but to stop academic activities.

Since the recess will commence on 15 March 2019, and with no academic activities currently taking place and no services on campuses, all students are advised to vacate the on-campus residences by end of Friday, 8 March 2019.

The University’s management will continue to engage with student leaders, the DHET, NSFAS and other key stakeholders during this time to seek to resolve the current situation.

A revised academic calendar will be published as soon as possible.

Students, parents, guardians and stakeholders will be updated on a regular basis during this period.

Due to vendor required maintenance on the Storage Infrastructure hosting the ITS servers, the online application system will not be available on 28 May and 4 June 2017. TUT would like to apologise for any inconvenience this may cause.

NOTICES:
The University is aware of the difficulties students have recently been experiencing to logon to the iEnabler. In view of this, the requirement to enter a password to logon, has temporarily been removed. Students now only need to enter a student number and pin to log on. The University would like to apologise for the inconvenience this has caused.
