๐Ÿ“นThe WorldSkills South Africa National Competition Closing Ceremony marked the official end of the competition, conference, and career festival held from 8โ€“12 March 2026 at the Inkosi Albert Luthuli International Convention Centre in Durban.

During the ceremony:
๐Ÿ… Top competitors were recognised and awarded medals for their excellence in different technical and vocational skill categories.

๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ National champions were announced, earning the opportunity to represent South Africa at the WorldSkills International Competition in Shanghai, China later in 2026.

Government leaders, training institutions, and industry partners congratulated participants for demonstrating high-level technical expertise, professionalism, and dedication.

The event reinforced the message that TVET and artisan skills are critical for building a skilled and competitive workforce for the future.

The closing ceremony celebrated several days of intense competition where students from TVET colleges, universities of technology, and training providers competed in multiple skill areas, showcasing the talent and potential of South Africaโ€™s future artisans and professionals.

At the closing ceremony of the WorldSkills South Africa National Competition Conference and Career Festival, Director-General Dr Nkosinathi Sishi emphasised that Technical and Vocational Education and Training (TVET) is a powerful career pathway and not a second choice.

He highlighted that the national competitions demonstrated high standards of skills and excellence among participants, reflecting the growing strength of the TVET sector.

Dr Sishi also noted that the conference component of the event played a critical role in strengthening collaboration and dialogue between government, industry, and training institutions, which is essential for building a skilled and competitive workforce for the future.
