An der DSP kommen rund 30 Nationalitäten zusammen – mit ihren eigenen Sprachen, Traditionen, Geschichten und Perspektiven. Wir feiern diese Vielfalt, die unsere Schulgemeinschaft so einzigartig macht.

Und doch verbindet uns eine gemeinsame Sprache: Deutsch. 🇩🇪

Deutsch ist Teil unseres Schulalltags – im Unterricht, auf dem Schulhof, bei Projekten, in Gesprächen und bei gemeinsamen Erlebnissen. Wenn unsere Schülerinnen und Schüler Deutsch lernen, entdecken sie zugleich deutschsprachige Kulturen, Geschichte und unterschiedliche Perspektiven.

Wer könnte den Start in die Ferien besser ankündigen als unsere jungen Blockflötenspielerinnen und -spieler?

Mit den letzten Tönen des Quartals verabschieden wir uns in die wohlverdienten Frühlingsferien. Hinter uns liegt ein abwechslungsreiches Quartal voller Lernen, Musik, Sport, Kreativität und gemeinsamer Erlebnisse.

Kunst kennt keine Grenzen. 🌍🎨

Von Pretoria nach Arizona – unsere Schülerinnen und Schüler der 7A stehen durch einen internationalen Kunst-Postkartenaustausch in Kontakt mit einer Partnerschule in Arizona, USA.

Die Schülerinnen und Schüler beider Schulen haben eigene Kunstwerke im Postkartenformat gestaltet und an ihre Austauschpartner auf der anderen Seite des Atlantiks geschickt. Nun ist die Post aus Arizona an der DSP angekommen – mit neuen Bildern, Ideen und Perspektiven von Schülerinnen und Schülern, die Tausende Kilometer entfernt leben.

Durch ihre Kunst geben unsere Schülerinnen und Schüler einen Einblick in das Leben in Pretoria und entdecken gleichzeitig, wie die Schülerinnen und Schüler in Arizona ihre eigene Welt sehen und interpretieren. Unterschiedliche Orte, unterschiedliche Perspektiven, eine universelle Sprache: Kunst.

Das ist Globalität an der DSP – unsere Schülerinnen und Schüler mit der Welt verbinden und durch Kunst internationale Erfahrungen schaffen.

Art Without Borders. 🌍🎨

From Pretoria to Arizona – our Grade 7A learners have connected with a partner school in Arizona, USA, through an international art postcard exchange.

Learners at both schools created individual artworks in postcard format and sent them to their exchange partners across the Atlantic. Now, the postcards from Arizona have arrived at the DSP – bringing new images, ideas and perspectives from learners thousands of kilometres away.

Through their art, our learners are sharing a glimpse of life in Pretoria while discovering how learners in Arizona see and interpret their own world. Different places, different perspectives, one universal language: art.

This is Global reach at the DSP – connecting our learners with the world and creating meaningful international experiences through art.

Outreach gehört für uns zur DSP.

Seit den späten 1980er-Jahren engagieren wir uns im Rahmen unseres Outreach-Programms für Schulen in Eersterus, Mamelodi und Nellmapius.

Dieses Jahr haben wir unseren Fokus auf Robotics und Six Bricks gelegt. Gemeinsam mit der Deutschen Botschaft Pretoria haben wir Lehrkräfte aus unseren 14 Partnerschulen zu einem praxisnahen Workshop eingeladen.

Gemeinsam bauen, ausprobieren, tüfteln und lernen – und neue Ideen direkt mit in die Klassenzimmer nehmen.

Wir teilen, was wir können, stärken unsere Partnerschaften und schaffen gemeinsam neue Lernchancen.

Mit Unterstützung der Deutschen Botschaft Pretoria.

Outreach is part of who we are at the DSP.

Since the late 1980s, our Outreach Programme has supported schools in Eersterus, Mamelodi and Nellmapius.

This year, our focus was on Robotics and Six Bricks. Together with the German Embassy Pretoria, we invited teachers from our 14 partner schools to a hands-on workshop.

Building, experimenting, tinkering and learning together – and taking new ideas straight back into the classroom.

We share what we know, strengthen our partnerships and create new learning opportunities together.

The Bundesjugendchor (National Youth Choir of Germany) is visiting Pretoria! They will be joining their voices and talents in a magnificent celebration of 300 voices in Harmony, accompanied by the orchestra from DSP.
