Our little artists brought the inside of a citrus fruit to life through a colourful, hands-on creative experience! 🍋✨
The children carefully cut yellow paper, strengthening their fine motor skills, hand-eye coordination and scissor control. ✂️💛 They then arranged and stuck their pieces onto baking paper, exploring spatial awareness and creativity. 🖐️🌱
A beautiful Montessori-inspired experience where little hands explored, curious minds discovered and creativity blossomed! 🌼🍊☀

🌱 What is in the Seed? 🌱
We discovered what a seed needs to grow - nourishing soil, water, sunlight and lots of time and care. Then, using their imaginations, the children wondered what their own little seeds might become. 🌱🌷

They tore pieces of paper to create rich, nutrient-filled soil, drew their plants with permanent markers, and added colour with pencils. Through this process, they strengthened their fine motor skills while exploring the beautiful connection between seed, soil and growth. 🌻

🍂✨ In the spirit of Autumn (a season that reminds us that change can be beautiful) our artists created a “window into the season” using real leaves, cardboard, scissors and thoughtful colour application.

With careful hands and curious minds, the children explored texture, colour and composition while strengthening fine motor skills and creative expression. The transparent centre of each artwork allowed the children to hold their pieces up to the sky, inviting nature itself to complete the picture. 🌿☁️

Join us for a vibrant celebration of language, culture and community at the Francophonie Festival on Saturday 28 March 2026, from 11h00 to 18h30.

Throughout the day, the festival will come alive with a rich and colourful programme showcasing the diversity of francophone cultures from around the world. Enjoy live concerts by Ziia, Marie Jay, and Anna Poltzoglou, alongside a variety of performances and activities including traditional and contemporary dance showcases and a vibrant fashion show celebrating style and identity.

Visitors will also be able to explore a lively village of stands hosted by francophone embassies. These will offer a taste of their countries through delicious food and drinks, as well as provide information on tourism, culture, and travel opportunities.

🎉 This year, Rainbow Montessori Preschool & Aftercare celebrates 30 years of educational excellence 🎉

In August 1995, Swiss expatriates Evelyn and Nicolas de Rougemont arrived in South Africa carrying a vision grounded in care, curiosity, and deep respect for childhood.

In January 1996, Evelyn opened the first Rainbow Montessori Preschool in a small annex of their home in Waterkloof, Pretoria - a humble beginning that would grow into a lasting educational community.

By 1998, the school expanded onto the neighbouring property, and in 2001, it opened a second campus on Main Street in Nieuw Muckelenuk.

Each chapter of growth reflected a steadfast commitment to nurturing young minds and honouring the Montessori philosophy.

When Evelyn passed away in 2015, her daughter, Armelle de Rougemont, a clinical psychologist, took up the responsibility of leading the school forward - continuing her mother’s work with the same devotion and care, while remaining in private practice.

Today, we celebrate this history and the milestone of 30 years of Rainbow Montessori with heartfelt pride and gratitude.

We look forward to another year shaped by curiosity, discovery, and meaningful learning alongside our beautifully diverse community of children from around the world 🌈✨
