Yesterday our staff and students celebrated the love of God by baking and decorating cookies.

Teaching students how to bake helps with language development, math skills, following direction, motor skills, patience, focus and attention, self esteem, perseverance, bonding and most importantly THEY HAD ABSOLUTE FUN WEARING THEIR RED AND WHITE ATTIRES WHILE LEARNING.

Good morning and welcome to 2024.

As all the children return to school today, we know that there will be a rollercoaster of emotions from both parents and students. It is completely normal for our students to cry, feel anxious, angry, happy and excited. Every child will adjust at their own pace to the school environment which will be facilitated by the warm reception of their amazing teachers. We invite all parents to collaborate with their children, teachers and principal to support and enhance the education of our students. Let’s look forward to an exciting year.

Today we are celebrating The LOVE of God at CCV.

When we think of Valentine's Day, we usually think of romantic love. However, it is an appropriate time to think also about God's love through Jesus Christ. The love that Jesus commanded us to show one another extends beyond "warm fuzzies" and affection. God's love is unconditional. As a sign of God's love, Jesus literally gave his life to free us from sin and to provide us with eternal life. If we embrace the principles of Christian love, then we are committed to one another in myriad ways.

Our students were encouraged to focus on expressing God's love to their friends and family on this day.

Good day and Happy Blessed Monday to you all.

Monday is a chance to begin fresh, set new goals, and set the potential for the week ahead. And Monday also is a spark for creativity, with so many great songs written about this day. We want to change the stigma around Monday and let it shine.

This week our students are learning about “MY HOME.” They will learn about the different types of homes (as you can see in the visual below, we try to get as many pictures and objects that the children can touch and see in order to learn better about the theme), who lives in homes, the different rooms in a home, the different materials used to build a home, and where homes are located (e.g sea, land, forests, urban areas, townships, etc).

Let’s begin this week on a good note.

Hands-on learning is simply learning by doing. Through hands-on activities, children are encouraged to learn through exploration. Hands-on learning develops thinking skills.

The senses are engaged through physical participation in learning. Through their seven senses, children develop an understanding of their world and engage with different learning styles.

Hands-on learning promotes fine motor skills and allows children to learn through their mistakes. It provides real opportunities for children to experiment and learn about the world through play.

Happy New Year to you all!

It’s been a busy start to the year: registrations, new students being welcomed , old students returning and preparing for the year ahead.

Classes have officially begun and the students are being taught “Me and My school” this week. They will be taught about their school, what their school is composed of, what they learn in their school and so much more. This is accompanied by songs, group activities and creative arts. And it goes without saying that the students are still taught their letters, numbers, colours, shapes, words, writing skills, life skills, fine motor skills, gross motor skills and a whole lot more while having fun all together.

Our 2022 end year concert and prize giving ceremony was eventful. Our students are amazing and we thank God for our selfless staff who are the front liners of the school.
