A timeless reminder that true learning is not only about knowledge, but about understanding. πŸ“š

β€œLearning without thought is labour lost; thought without learning is perilous” speaks to the importance of curiosity, reflection and wisdom in every learner’s journey. At Pretoria Chinese School, we believe education should shape thoughtful minds, strong character and a lifelong love for learning.

As we continue empowering student excellence, we encourage our learners to not only study hard, but to think deeply, ask questions and grow with purpose.

πŸ›πŸ“šβœ¨ Our Grade 3 students had a wonderful time creating their own Chinese versions of The Very Hungry Caterpillar storybook and crafting their very own caterpillars!

Each day, their little caterpillar friends join them as they explore Chinese storybooks together, making reading an exciting and interactive adventure. πŸ“–

This creative project not only sparks imagination and creativity but also builds confidence in reading Chinese and nurtures a lifelong love of learning. We are so proud of our young readers and storytellers! πŸŒŸπŸ›β€οΈ

🎨✨ Striking charcoal drawings by our talented students are on display at this year’s Magic Whispers exhibition. Inspired by the theme Being Put in a Box, these artworks explore identity, emotion, and the unseen pressures society places on individuals.

πŸ–€ Through bold contrasts, intricate detail, and powerful symbolism, each piece tells a unique story of self-expression, resilience, and the magic found in embracing one’s authentic self. 🌟

πŸ€– Robotics is about so much more than building and programming robots.

A key part of the learning journey is organising and managing the components in our robotics kits. Through this process, learners develop essential life skills such as planning, organisation, attention to detail, responsibility, and teamwork.

By sorting, categorising, and caring for the various parts, students discover that successful engineering begins with good preparation. These practical habits not only support their robotics projects but also equip them with valuable problem-solving skills that will benefit them far beyond the classroom.
Great innovation starts with strong foundations! πŸš€

🐾 Our Grade 4–7 students had the wonderful opportunity to spend time with Pretoria Dog Rescue during a meaningful and informative session on animal welfare and responsible pet care.

The day was filled with special moments as learners interacted with the rescue dogs and presented generous food donations collected in support of the rescue.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed and helped make a difference in the lives of these beautiful dogs. Together, we are teaching compassion, responsibility, and the importance of caring for animals. 🐢❀️
