The South African Qualifications Authority (SAQA) held the 3rd National Working Group on Micro-credentials took place on 3 June 2026 at the Southern Sun Hotel in Pretoria.

The hybrid event took place to adopt and approve the draft of the Terms of Reference. At the meeting, the clarification of roles of the Thematic Working Group took place, as well as the draft of the activity plan.

During the day, various presentations took place, which focussed on the Draft National Policy on Micro-credentials, as well as presentations from various sectors and organisations, including using the National Learner Records Database as a tool for capturing micro-credentials.

The next meeting will take place in September.
