125 years. 7 reunions. 1200 old boys. One unforgettable weekend.

The celebrations began on Thursday, 4 June, with a self-guided school tour as old boys wandered familiar corridors, revisiting memories and sharing stories. The Last Post echoed through the school at 5:30pm, followed by a warm sherry before the Paul Anthony Establishment Concert featuring the PBHS Choir. A fitting and meaningful start to an extraordinary weekend.

The Pretoria Boys High School Old Boys Association is proud to introduce Gordon Hay as its Honorary President.

Gordon Hay is the epitome of a Boys High boy, a gentleman whose life has been defined by leadership, service, humility, and unwavering commitment to Pretoria Boys High School and its broader community.

Head Prefect in 1965, Gordon captained the 2nd Rugby Team and earned four appearances for the First XV, demonstrating the leadership and dedication that would shape his lifelong contribution to the School. After leaving PBHS, he qualified as an attorney, earning B.Com and LLB degrees, and went on to become Chairman of MacRobert Attorneys.

In 1973, Gordon joined the Old Boys Association Board and became one of its longest-serving and most respected leaders, serving as Chairman from 1981 to 2002.

Gordon’s support for the School has always extended beyond that of an old boy, as a parent, community member, and passionate advocate for Boys High. He embodies the spirit, values, and traditions of PBHS and stands proudly among its greatest sons. Despite a lifetime of extraordinary service, Gordon has never sought recognition, remaining modest in character and steadfast in his commitment to the School and its future.

His appointment as Honorary President is a fitting recognition of a lifetime dedicated to Boys High and its community.
