On Wednesday, 15 July 2026, the first meeting of the Candy Stripe Collective was held at the Pretoria High School Old Boys Club in Pretoria.

The concept was born from a perceived need to connect alumni, partners and the broader Boys High community on a business-related level. Specifically, it aims to create a platform where, as supporters of PBHS, members of the community can identify opportunities to do business, build meaningful networks, support one another, assist with the integration of recent matriculants and, ultimately, strengthen the Boys High community.

More than 90 people attended the inaugural gathering, with Nic Latouf (Class of 1996), co-founder of the Lekker Network, sharing his insights as the guest speaker.

The initiative was brought together by Stephen Burrow (Class of 1991), with the support of the Old Boys’ Association and the Old Boys Club.

The strong turnout and enthusiastic engagement demonstrated the value of creating spaces where the Boys High network can connect beyond school ties. As the Candy Stripe Collective grows, future gatherings will continue to foster collaboration, mentorship and opportunity, ensuring that the spirit of Boys High remains a powerful force in both business and community for generations to come.

The PBHS 125th Anniversary celebrations continued on Saturday in New Zealand, with 39 Old Boys gathering at Auckland Grammar School for an evening of fellowship, memories, and Boys High spirit.

Beautifully organised by Jacques van Heerden, Marius Viljoen, and former PBHS master Mr Ryan Anderson, the event showcased the incredible connection Old Boys have with the school and one another.

A special highlight was a surprise appearance by PBHS master Dion Wright, while Greg Hassenkamp was reunited with his former Solomon House FI Prefect, Justin Treagus (Class of 1986).

The PBHS Old Boys’ Association is proud to have facilitated this Australasian tour, providing Old Boys in Australia and New Zealand with the opportunity to celebrate this historic 125th milestone alongside Headmaster Greg Hassenkamp and reconnect with their Boys High roots.

Following the successful gatherings in Perth and Sydney, we look forward to seeing the PBHS Old Boys network continue to grow and thrive across New Zealand.
