LsH Potch Koekoek
The potch koekoek is a South-African chicken developed in the late 1960’s. This was at the Potchefstroom agricultural college.
It was the product of crossbreeding several other chicken breeds to create one more suited to south-Africa’s hard conditions. This breed has been bred as a dual purpose free ranging chicken with large structure for meat production as well as good laying capabilities. They are known for maintaining good quality eggs even with poor quality or insufficient feeding.
