9 Years of Heart, Hope and Growth – Hillside Akademie

Nine years ago today, I started Hillside Akademie – with just one learner. That learner is now in Grade 12 with us this year, and it feels like a full circle of growth, perseverance, and faith.

I followed my heart, knowing that I could make a difference in children’s lives – especially for those who don’t always find their place in mainstream schools. Over the past nine years, Hillside Akademie has become a safe haven where children are seen, heard, and nurtured. A place where every learner is given the space to grow and flourish in their own unique way.

We have grown from strength to strength – not only in numbers, but in impact, care, and meaning. Every child who walks through our doors carries a story, and it is a privilege to be part of that journey.

But Hillside Akademie is so much more than just a school. It is a team. I am incredibly grateful for the remarkable people who walk this path with me. Our staff share the same passion: to make a difference, to uplift children, and to work each day with purpose and heart.

We look ahead with hope and excitement – there is still so much growth, so many dreams, and many years of happiness ahead.
