A huge thank you to every parent, learner and vendor who helped make our ECA Sport Festival such a special day.

To our parents, thank you for showing up, cheering from the sidelines, supporting the teams and being part of the atmosphere.

To our learners, thank you for the energy, teamwork, sportsmanship and enthusiasm you brought onto the field and court.

And to all our vendors, thank you for adding something extra to the day with the food, drinks, activities and products.

Days like this remind us that ECA is about more than just sport. It is about community, family and making memories together.

Thank you to everyone who played a part in making the day a success. 💙

❤️💛💚🖤 Bold, Bright & Beautiful — Grade 7 Ndebele Art! 💙

Our Grade 7 learners have been exploring the rich heritage of Ndebele art through paper collage, and we could not be prouder!

Inspired by traditional Ndebele house painting and patterns, they focused on symmetry, geometric shapes, bright colour contrast and precision cutting. Using only coloured paper and a lot of patience, they created these striking designs full of culture and creativity.

This lesson was about more than just art — it was about celebrating our South African heritage, mathematics in patterns, and the power of colour and identity.

Our Grade 6 learners have been exploring the wonderful world of abstract botanical art, and the results are absolutely STUNNING!

Using waterpaint washes, bold black line work and a burst of vibrant colour, they created these imaginative plant studies. We focused on colour theory, pattern, and seeing nature in a new, abstract way — and they totally nailed it!

From whimsical spotted flowers to swirly fantasy plants, each painting is full of personality and joy. You can really feel spring on paper!

Well done to our talented Grade 6 artists — your work is brightening up our school!

🌟 Small artists, BIG talent! 🌟

Our Grade 5s created these beautiful mixed-media insect collages. Using foil, fabric, feathers and recycled materials, they learned about insects while having so much fun being creative.
