I’m incredibly proud and honoured to have been selected as a National Coach for the South African team heading to Algeria for the African Karate Championships, 6–13 September. 🇩🇿🥋

Representing your country is always something special, and I’m grateful for the opportunity and responsibility to help prepare and coach our athletes on the African stage.

Looking forward to the journey ahead, working with the team and giving everything we can for South Africa. 🇿🇦

🥋 A Proud Shodan Milestone 🇯🇵

One of the things I admire most about Malan van der Rijst is his commitment to keep learning, improving and moving forward.

When Malan joined SA JKA after previously training in another organisation, he chose to continue his karate journey within our system with humility, dedication and an open mind.

Tonight, I had the privilege of presenting him with his official Japanese Shodan Certificate—his recognised Black Belt certificate.

It was a very proud moment.

Malan is a true example of a dedicated and committed karateka. No matter what challenges come his way, he continues to return to the dojo, keeps training and refuses to give up.

Malan, congratulations on this special achievement. Your perseverance and commitment are inspiring, and I am proud to be part of your journey.
Well done, Shodan. Keep moving forward.
