Last week our pre-school students celebrated Maria Montessori’s birthday.
In honor of her life and work, the preschool children explored our Sensorial materials in creative ways, using them to make beautiful art extensions. They decorated the words Respect, Peace, and Love of Learning — the cornerstones of Montessori Philosophy and values we strive to live each day in our classroom.

Morning Star Montessori had the privilege of hosting an insightful talk by occupational therapist Ashley Brecher from Bright Eyes Therapy Centre.
Focusing on helping minds and bodies work
together, the session empowered both parents and teachers with practical guidance on occupational therapy and sensory support.
Ashley explored the many everyday areas in which occupational therapy supports children - from building independence and participation to boosting confidence and overall development.
Alongside the five familiar senses, she introduced three lesser-known ones: vestibular, proprioception and interoception, helping us better understand children's unique responses to sensory input. Using the analogy of cups of different sizes, Ashley demonstrated how each child has varying levels of tolerance in different sensory areas. For a child to remain regulated, their cups need to be "filled" appropriately - neither empty nor overflowing.
The key takeaway was clear: occupational therapy offers valuable benefits from infancy through adulthood, helping every child reach their fullest potential.

We couldn’t be prouder of our Morning Star Montessori MTB Team. With riders from Pre-Primary through to Senior Primary, this is a team full of heart, grit, and growth
What truly sets them apart is the sportsmanship and camaraderie they show at every race – a true reflection of the Montessori spirit.
Each child rides with determination, aiming to better their own performance each time, and their efforts are paying off!
A special shoutout to James Lötter, our absolute MTB star, who continues to lead by example and inspire those around him!
