Ek is reeds vir 28 jaar betrokke by Wiskunde-onderrig vir graad 8 tot graad 12 leerders. Die afgelope 10 jaar is ek verbonde aan Hoërskool Die Wilgers in Pretoria, waar ek ‘n Wiskunde Akademie bedryf met een groep in elke graad.

If E-maths can be installed on each computer in the computer centre so that every student at a computer has the facility of a personalized virtual maths classroom, sections needing visualization – for instance graph work and geometry – can be taught very effectively while time is saved in the process.

There is also a growing interest by schools who are buying the E-maths DVD’s for use in their computer centres. Schools invest in this programme because teachers express the need for a facility where learners can catch up on a section they missed because of absenteeism. Such a facility will also enable students to work in their own time on sections with which they struggle or which they want to revise

Everybody knows that there is plenty of aids available in mathematics – from personal to computer based extra classes. These aids are not always effective as they do not always correspond with what is really expected by the new syllabus. Learners who bought the E-maths DVD’s, has all shown great improvement in their math marks. The improvement was achieved by learners from all levels between 5% and 70%+.
