Some food for thought...
Language teachers, I know that school's the last thing on your mind, but...
We are required to teach learners the concept 'cause and effect' from grade 3 to 12.
Let's use what's unfolding around us, to teach them what it means and hopefully help shape their future decisions to be more responsible .

Grade R-12 English Home Language, HOD's and Teachers.
As this year draws to an end, and we await the revised ATP'S, I urge you to take the time to look at the information presented below, which focuses on one of the Language Skills developed, namely Reading and Viewing.
Notice the progression and repetition of skills/concepts to be taught? Those of you teaching Grades 4-12 will recognise that these skills continue to be taught to grade 12, with increased levels of complexity.
How do we ensure that these skills that are taught at a foundational level, are remembered and applied through the years, especially given that the curriculum lends itself to repetition and reinforcement.
