This year, 2022, South Africa will host to the World Science Forum – the first time that this event is hosted on the African continent. The event aims to discuss science's roles, responsibilities and challenges and presents our issues of common interest to the scientific community and the public.
To mark this significant year, the Dutch embassy in South Africa and Nuffic Southern Africa, National Research Foundation (NRF) and Dutch Research Council (NWO) are co-hosting a side event during the World Science Forum. The aim of the event is to celebrate, strengthen and expand collaboration, and to provide for a solid base for the next phase of the collaboration with the establishment of the Education and Science attaché. The event builds on the Education and Research dialogues hosted in 2020 and the continued working group on bilateral activities between Nuffic Southern Africa, the NRF and NWO.
The event will take place at the CTICC, Cape Town and site visits within the region. Dates: 5 - 9 December 2022
