What an exciting week of curiosity, discovery and exploration at WHPS! Our boys immersed themselves in fascinating science displays, explored rocks, gems, shells and magnets, and engaged in thought-provoking questions that sparked lively discussions and big ideas.
Our Grade 2 and 3 boys also wowed us with exciting experiments, chemical reactions and spectacular demonstrations โ culminating in an unforgettable Science Show featuring smoke, explosions and the much-loved Elephantโs Toothpaste experiment!
Science Week perfectly captured what Inquiry-Based Learning is all about: encouraging our boys to question, investigate, experiment and wonder about the world around them.

Although the day began off very chilly, the braai fires, laughter, and fun activities quickly warmed things up!
The boys and girls had a wonderful time enjoying one-on-one Playball activities with their dads and father figures. From piggyback rides to baking-tray sled races, there was plenty of fun, teamwork, and laughter all around.
After all the action, everyone gathered around the braai while our dads cooked delicious boerie rolls. The morning ended on a high with a surprise visit from the ice cream truck, which was a big hit with the boys and girls!
Thank you to all the dads and father figures who joined us and helped make the morning such an enjoyable one. We loved seeing everyone spending time together and taking part in the fun!

To celebrate our Platinum Three-Decade Award in 2025, WHPS proudly presented The Eco Guardians, a specially commissioned production written by Dr Clive Martin.
Set against the backdrop of Hamilton Hall, the story followed the courageous Eco Guardians as they faced off against the mischievous Rebel Runners in a battle to protect their school's reputation as a leading Green School. Through teamwork, determination and environmental responsibility, they proved that every small action can make a big difference.
More than just an entertaining production, The Eco Guardians inspired our boys and the audience alike to reflect on the future of our planet and the role we all play in protecting it.
Thank you to our dedicated production team, cast, crew and staff whose creativity, passion and hard work made this unforgettable production possible.

At WHPS, we believe that great schools are built by educators who never stop learning.
Last week, we were proud to host our Junior and Senior Prep Forum, welcoming teachers from schools across Pretoria and Johannesburg, including St Maryโs DSG, St Teresaโs, Steyn City, The Kingโs School Bryanston, and many others.
By creating opportunities like these, WHPS actively contributes to the teaching profession, bringing educators together to share ideas, explore best practices, and learn from leading voices in education.
Our guest speaker, Leigh Walker, Head of Innovation and Technology at Pridwin, inspired attendees with her presentation, The Curiosity Lab, challenging us to reimagine classrooms as spaces where questions are celebrated, wonder is encouraged, and curiosity drives learning.
As a school, we are committed to ensuring our teachers remain at the forefront of educational thinking, because when teachers grow, our boys thrive.
Thank you to Leigh Walker for sharing her expertise and to all the educators who joined us for an afternoon of professional learning, collaboration, and meaningful conversation.
