A glimpse into our vision for the Hallway of Remembrance—a space created to honor the creative spirits who moved us. Our design features two icons whose artistry truly helped shape the Soul & House music scene in South Africa:

They did far more than just create music—they shared their pure, creative energy with our entire house community of the 2000's era, leaving a powerful spirit that continues to inspire. They will forever be a vital part of our circle of history."

Moving Forward with Uniting Through the Rhythm
It is with a mixture of heavy hearts and exiting ambition that we announce a major milestone in our journey. For 22 incredible years, our studios at the Duncan Yard Center have been more than just a workspace—they have been a home.
These walls have witnessed the birth of countless careers and the creation of defining moments in the dance music industry. The Urban Music Institute has stood here as a sanctuary for mentoring and tutoring, guiding so many talented DJs, artists, and producers who have gone on to make their mark on the industry . The memories made and the music released here are woven into the very fabric of who we are.
While it is difficult to close the door on a space that holds so much history, we are thrilled to share what comes next.
We are moving!
Please note that we will continue operating out of our current Duncan Yard premises until the end of February. From the 1st of March 2026, we will officially be occupying our brand-new home at Parkfield Court, Park Street.
These new premises are currently being constructed to offer a state of the art facility designed specifically for the music industry we love so dearly. It will be a dedicated space for learning, creating, performing, and shining.
As we prepare to say goodbye to the place that started it all, we look forward ambitiously to making new memories and continuing our legacy in a space built for the future of music.
