🧠⚙️ AI can analyse data - but it can’t feel a bearing spin freely with zero play.
There’s no algorithm for instinct, no code for craftsmanship.
While the bots are busy crunching numbers, real mechanics feel precision through their fingertips.
👨🔧 Learn the skills no machine can mimic - hands-on, detail-driven, and built to last.
Train with Torq Zone Academy - where hands-on beats hands-off.

🔧💡 Bigger Rotor = Better Stopping Power!
It’s all about leverage.
With larger rotors the caliper sits further out. That extra distance gives your brakes more torque to fight the wheel’s rotation.
⚡ Same hand force at the lever → more stopping power at the wheel.
💪 More control, more confidence, less “oh no” moments on the trail!
👉 Would you go 140mm, 160mm, 180mm, or even larger?

🔩 Normalisation of Deviance: Torque Edition
“That bolt’s tight enough — I’ve done it this way for years.”
Normalisation of Deviance = risky practices become “normal” because “nothing bad has happened yet”… until it does.
⚠️ The danger? Under-torque = loose parts, over-torque = stripped threads or cracked carbon.
Both start as risky shortcuts that feel normal… until failure smacks mid-ride.
👉 Stick to torque specs. Tools exist for a reason — don’t let “good enough” become your standard.

🚴♂️🔗 Quick Link 101
Should you reuse a quick link on your bicycle chain? 🤔
Here’s the breakdown:
✅ KMC & Connex → Reusable
❌ SRAM & Shimano → Single-use only
👉 Rule of thumb: the higher the speed (11 & 12-speed especially), the stricter the single-use only rule applies.
Keep your rides smooth and safe — don’t gamble with your chain!

Here’s your quick-reference guide for 12-speed chain wear:
⠀
🔵 Shimano: Replace at 0.5%
🔴 SRAM: Replace at 0.8%
Save your cassette, save your wallet.
Keep it smooth, keep it shifting.
