Congratulations to our Cross-country star, Mvelo Poti, who was honoured last night at the awards ceremony hosted at Afrikaans Hoër Seunskool.
Competing in the Gauteng North Secondary Schools League (GNSSL), Mvelo finished 2nd overall in the B-League U/18 category - an incredible achievement against tough competition.

WILLOWRIDGE HIGH SCHOOL SHINES AT THE EMS OLYMPIAD 2026!

On 20 August 2026, Willowridge High School proudly participated in the EMS Olympiad District Competition, organised by the Department of Education in partnership with the South African Institute of Chartered Accountants (SAICA).

The competition challenged learners to demonstrate their problem-solving skills, accounting knowledge and critical-thinking abilities.

We are thrilled to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our Grade 8 learners:

🥇 Ziyanda Maila – 1st Place & Gold Medal
🥉 Mbalentle Lepuru – 3rd Place & Bronze Medal

This achievement is even more special because Willowridge High School has now won the EMS Olympiad Golden Trophy three times! 🏆

Three of our Grade 9 learners, Keatlegile Mothle, Lehlohonolo Pejane and Nqobile Matjebe represented Willowridge high school at the Social Sciences Olympiad (Tshwane South District) that took place at Hoërskool Voortrekkerhoogte on Thursday, 20th August. These learners competed against 110 other learners from 34 schools and they did exceptionally well.

Keatlegile Mothle delivered an outstanding performance, securing first place overall. Her achievement has earned her a place at the Provincial level. Congratulations to our superstars on this great achievement 👏 👏

EMS Olympiad 2026
On 12 August 2026, Willowridge High School proudly participated in the EMS Olympiad Cluster Competition, where our Grade 8 and Grade 9 learners showcased their knowledge, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills in Economic and Management Sciences (EMS).
We are delighted to congratulate the following learners on their outstanding achievements:
Grade 8

These 6 learners proudly represented Willowridge High school at the SALA Public Speaking competition. The semi-finals took place at Hoërskool Bastion in Krugersdorp this past weekend. We're waiting in anticipation for the final results that will determine if they're going through to the national round on the 22nd August 2026. Congratulations to our shining stars 🌟
