One of my most treasured people: little Lila.

She started collecting my art in 2025. At every exhibition I’m in, she finds my work. Like she knows where the magic lives.

At Art Alive, WHPS last week, she didn’t know I was exhibiting. She walked in, saw my pieces, and took photos with each one. No Bernice in person. Just my art, speaking to her anyway.

That moment is why I paint.

Research shows kids exposed to art build stronger creativity, problem-solving, and emotional intelligence. Looking at art teaches them to observe, ask questions, and trust what they feel.

Moms: Art matters. It grows curious, confident humans.

Lila, thank you for collecting me. You remind me why vibrant, alive art belongs in every home.

When I delivered my 4 pieces to Art Alive this week, I had this quiet, intuitive feeling.

One of them wasn’t coming home with me.

A permanent goodbye.

“Honoring the Melody of your Soul” found her match. Her artlover. Her collector. The person she was painted for all along.

I love when this happens. When a piece speaks, and someone answers.

To the person who took her home: thank you. May she bless your home a hundredfold. May she remind you to pause, breathe, and listen to your own melody on the days life gets loud.

I wish I could meet you in person to say thank you properly. Maybe one day? Until then, know this: she was painted with much love and joy, and she’s leaving my studio for a place she was always meant to be...😊🤗🎨

Art Alive reminded me why I do this work.

Saw 30+ artists in one room. Every subject, every color, every mood.
But the pieces that pulled me in? The vibrant ones. The ones that feel like joy, energy, 8am sunlight.

That’s what I try to paint for your walls too. Not just art. But that “oh” feeling when you walk in at 8pm after a long day.

I also got to share 4 of my own pieces with you all. And one of them found its new home this week. My heart is so full. Thank you to whoever said yes to her.

Jacky and I stood in front of a few paintings for quite some time. Didn’t say much. Just felt it. That’s the goal, right?

She awakens the mischievous, wild and whimsical woman in your heart. It is,ok to be weird and wonderful in this upside down world of ours. Maybe that is exactly what the world needs. More people like you who remember who they are, real people, wild women...

The past few weeks i decided to take my time back, the precious minutes and hours on what I would spend on planning, making and posting content on facebook and Instagram. I must say, it feels like getting my life back again.
All of a sudden I have more time available to read "Women who run with the wolves", play ukelele, sit in the sun or seeing the beauty of Winter magical things all around me.
Of course, I can also see my views and visibility drop, because algorithms are not 'picking me up' anymore and I am not willing anymore to bend over backwards to feed the machine. I am not even sure if anybody will see this message at all.
I just know that I am making this commitment to have a real life off of facebook and Instagram, and will only share what is important in that moment, instead of posting 4 or 5 times a week in hope that 'algorithms' will remember my work. And rather spending my precious energy then finding more organic,human, beautiful ways to connect with YOU....❤️‍🔥🎨✨️💃🎶
