🌍✨ Mandela Day Celebrations at Pretoria School for Learners with Cerebral Palsy ✨🌍
Today, our amazing learners took part in 67 minutes of community service to honour Nelson Mandela’s legacy. They enthusiastically picked up trash both inside and outside our school, showing their dedication to keeping our environment clean and beautiful.
At Pretoria School, we believe in teaching our learners that we are stewards of this planet. Even though it may not be our rubbish, we can take responsibility and make a difference. We teach our learners that they can make a difference. The "WE CAN," attitude reminds us all that despite our different abilities, we can still contribute positively to our community.
We are incredibly proud of our learners for their hard work and commitment. Together, we are proving that WE CAN keep our environment neat and clean! 💪♻️🌱

The Grade 1 learners were thrilled to discover that the blankets we donated to the Blankets for Baby Rhinos project are being actively used by rhinos, elephants, rangers, and the broader community! Their excitement prompted them to create beautiful drawings while diligently completing their class assignments.

Today, they utilised rectangles, ovals, triangles, and various shapes to craft these imaginative rhinos... wrapped snugly in blankets. Upon closer inspection, you'll spot Missy the curious giraffe in Hlengiwe's drawing, reminiscent of the photo they viewed on the Blankets for Baby Rhinos page from Zimbabwe.

🎉 Heartfelt Thanks from the Muscle Dystrophy Group at Pretoria School! 🎉

The learners of the Muscle Dystrophy group at Pretoria School, extend a heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to our project. Your support has had a profound impact, and together, we are creating lasting change. 🌟

We're thrilled to have donated blankets and beanies to the "Blankets for Baby Rhinos" project and are delighted to see our contributions benefiting these gentle elephants. 🐘 The learners were especially happy knowing that the Rangers are also receiving support.

We're planning a special spotted blanket for Missy the Giraffe! 🦒 Today, we're making another delivery of 5 blankets and beanies.

If you have more knitted or crocheted squares, please continue to deliver them to our school. We are dedicated to helping others, showcasing our strength despite our unique challenges. 💪💖

Thank you for your unwavering support and generosity!

Two of our Building Tomorrow learners recently completed two courses at KIGIMA: benchworking and basic auto electrician assistant courses, generously sponsored by KIGIMA. Delroy has earned two competency certificates, while Victor has received two attendance certificates. We are currently seeking opportunities to place them in in-service training positions. We are so proud of these two trainees! Congratulations!

Our dedicated Building Tomorrow Team has achieved outstanding results this term. We sincerely appreciate the parents' support in enrolling their children in the program. We take pride in each team member gaining valuable skills in the open labour market.

The Building Tomorrow group has created exquisite lamps using entirely recycled materials such as old bottles and used lampshades, incorporating unique decorations. Drawing inspiration from online sources, they have crafted one-of-a-kind creations. This initiative not only fosters entrepreneurship skills and workplace readiness but also prepares them for their transition to the in-service workgroup in 2025.
