What is the Out of Africa hypothesis?
Idea that modern humans originated in Africa and then migrated out of Africa to the other continents.
Evidence that supports the Out of Africa hypothesis;
1. Oldest fossil of Australopithecine/Homo habilis/bipedal organisms have been found in Africa.
2. The oldest fossil of homo erectus have been found in Africa.
3. Analysis of mt DNA shows that the oldest female ancestors of humans are from Africa.
4. Analysis of mutations on Y chromosome shows that the oldest male ancestors of humans are from Africa.
If a fossil of Australopithecus afarensis dated 3,2 mya is found in Asia, what implication would this have for the "Out of Africa" hypothesis?
_The "Out of Africa" hypothesis will be rejected since the oldest fossil will be from Asia.
