Registrations for the ABRAA Showdown Spelling Bee Competition 2026 are now officially CLOSED. 🐝📚

We would like to thank all the participants who registered for this exciting educational showdown. Your enthusiasm and commitment to learning are truly inspiring! ✨

We are now preparing for the big day:

📅 Date: 14 March 2026
⏰ Time: 10:00 AM – 4:00 PM
📍 Venue: Hosea Kekana Secondary School

Spectators are welcome to attend and support the young spellers.

🎟 Entrance at the door:
Adults – R100 presale before Friday 6pm (R150 at the door)
Youth – R50
Kids – R20

🍔 Food and refreshments will be sold at the venue.

Meet Our Official Judge for the ABRAA Showdown Spelling Bee Competition

Name: Duduzile Abigail Masuku
Duduzile Abigail Masuku is a dedicated and passionate educator who has answered the call to make a meaningful difference in the lives of children and her community.

After spending 14 years in the corporate world, Duduzile made a bold decision to follow her true passion for teaching and inspiring young minds. She believes that teaching is not just a profession, but a calling that requires passion, patience, and dedication.

She is committed to creating a nurturing and supportive learning environment that encourages academic excellence, creativity, and personal growth in every child.

In 2020, Duduzile also launched her baking business, Duduliscious Cakes, where she combines her creativity and attention to detail to craft beautiful and delicious cakes.

Through both education and entrepreneurship, Duduzile continues to inspire and empower others, especially young learners, to reach their full potential and become positive contributors to society.

Meet our Official Judge For ABRAA Showdown Spelling Bee Competition

Name: Shadi Raphatane
Shadi Raphatane holds a BCom in Law degree (Cum Laude) with an outstanding average of 89%, along with a qualification in Public Management. She currently serves as a Paralegal, specializing in legal research, drafting, and client support.

Beyond her legal career, she is also an aspiring author, with her debut book set for release soon by the grace of God. Her passion lies in advancing access to justice, empowering communities through legal education, and continuously growing within the legal and public administration fields.

She brings academic excellence, diligence, creativity, leadership, and strong integrity to every role she takes on.

Shadi is also currently pursuing her Honours degree, continuing her commitment to academic and professional growth.
