📢 2027 ONLINE ADMISSIONS | Grade 1 & 8 application period to be announced soon

Gauteng MEC for Education, Sport, Arts, Culture and Recreation, Lebogang Maile, assures parents and guardians that the application period for Grade 1 and Grade 8 will be announced soon, and encourages parents to use this time to prepare the required supporting documents.

📌 Important reminder: Grade R applications are not online. Parents and guardians must apply directly at schools.

📚 TERM 3 OF THE 2026 ACADEMIC YEAR BEGINS TODAY!

The Gauteng Department of Education welcomes back all learners, educators, school staff, support teams, SGB members and education stakeholders as public schools across Gauteng reopen for Term 3 today, Tuesday, 21 July 2026.

As we begin the new term, we call on parents, guardians, communities, educators, government, business and civil society to play their part in supporting our learners. Together, we can create safe, caring and enabling environments where every child has the opportunity to succeed.

Let us all work together to make Term 3 a successful one for every learner.
