✨ PEARLS FOR JESUS — 18 YEARS ✨
On the 5th of May 2008, Pearls for Jesus opened its doors with a dream, a calling & a step of faith.

What began out of frustration & heartbreak within the traditional school environment became the very thing God used to create something beautiful — a peaceful place where children could be free to be themselves, loved, nurtured & taught in an environment filled with grace & understanding. A place where we, as tutors, could once again live out our passion for teaching without the constant strain & frustration we previously experienced.

Looking back now, it is hard to believe how quickly 18 years have passed.

The early years were filled with excitement, freedom, uncertainty & many challenges. Homeschooling was still very unfamiliar at the time & we often faced resistance from certain people within the education system. We were walking on waters unknown. Yet even then, God remained faithful. Long before homeschooling became more accepted after COVID & lockdown, God had already gone ahead of us & made a way.

Over the past 18 years, approximately 200 children have walked through our doors — each one uniquely precious to us. We often say that Pearls for Jesus was never built through advertising or human effort. Every student that came to us was sent by God Himself.

One of our greatest testimonies remains our Grade 12 students. For the past 15 years, every single matric student achieved a 100% pass rate — a testimony not of our own strength, but purely of God's grace & faithfulness.

The name Pearls for Jesus was inspired by the old Afrikaans Sunday school song about being pearls in Jesus’ crown. We believe every child is a precious pearl & that we, as tutors, simply form part of the beautiful process God uses to shape & refine them into who He created them to be.

To our current students & families — thank you for being part of this journey with us. You are not simply “clients” or “students” to us. You are part of the Pearls for Jesus family and part of the story God is still writing. Thank you for trusting us with your children, for allowing us to sow into their lives & for walking this journey alongside us. The laughter in the classrooms, the daily conversations, the victories big & small — all of it continues to make Pearls for Jesus what it is today.

As we celebrate 18 years, we do not only look back with gratitude… we also look forward with excitement & expectation for all that God still has in store. If the past 18 years are anything to go by, we know the best is still to come.

Today our hearts overflow with gratitude. Thank You Jesus for sustaining us every single day for the past 18 years. Thank You for every child, every family, every lesson, every challenge, every breakthrough & every memory made along the way.
