Great experience by stakeholders with regard to the event
(World Heritage Day)
World Heritage Day is celebrated on 24 September every year.
The owner of Thuto-lesedi Day Care and her assistant
organised the event at Mmakau. She claimed that the World
Heritage Day is mainly about teaching the children to know
more about their culture and teaching them to celebrate.
Because if children are not taught about the diversity of
cultures they become discriminative towards other cultures
and nation.
The street of Mmakau was flooded with beautiful traditional
patterns and bright colours of various traditional as South
African celebrated World Heritage Day. Parents, children and
families came in numbers for Heritage Day event held at
Thuto-lesedi Day Care in Mmakau.
The motivational speaker, Nthabiseng Moloto, was invited to
the event and to deliver an inspiring speech about the
Heritage Day. She advised people to celebrate their culture
everyday and make it a lifestyle so that the next generation
can also inherit their heritage and pass it to the next
generation. Parents, families, teachers, children along with the
Community members enjoyed traditional food, music and
traditional dance as they took turns to show how they dance in
their cultures. Everyone were encouraged to wear traditional
clothes. The were very happy to take videos, pictures and
beautiful portraits using cameras, tablets and smartphones.
Everyone had wonderful day. on your mind?
