β¦someone who has worked with me in Technology Integration in the Classroom space would not believe my excitement about QUALITY management matters in Higher Education πPart of me had always viewed this aspect as EVERYONEβs business vs. most institutions' current practice but proud of saying the previous sitting was a confirmationπ
Quality as Transformation, Student Engagement, and Student voices stood out for me as some of the enablers that could take Higher Education to GREATER heightsπ I am GRATEFUL and super excited to have participated in this Higher Education Quality Assurance Forumπ

As a Quality Advisor practitioner in Quality Management Systems for Higher Education, I firmly believe in the statement made by Edwards Deming that;
"Quality is everyone's responsibility."
However, I cannot help but acknowledge the George incident and how it exemplifies our tendency as individuals to be;
-non-compliant,
-ignorant,
- unaccountable, and
- unethical in our actions.
I find these behaviors as major obstacles to achieving QUALITY in our work and life in general.
It is concerning to me that, despite the advancements in technology, incidents like this still occur. Perhaps we have become too reliant on technology and neglected to apply our common sense....π€·ββοΈπ€·ββοΈ

Case study sixteen (16) The Brooklyn Public Library and Technology for Literacy (DeCandido & Office, 2000).
In this case study, it was again confirmed that βLearning to use computers can change the way we learn everything elseβ¦.this tells us that learning to use computers is NOT just about mastering a device or software; it's about gaining the skills and ACCESS to the necessary information to TRANSFORM the way we LEARN and ENGAGE with the world. It empowers individuals to be more INFORMED, connected, and ADAPTABLE in an increasingly digital and information-rich society.

The new literacies of the Internet (Leu & Kinzer, 2003)
The introduction of new literacies in the context of the Internet represents a transformative shift in how we understand and interact with Information and Communication Technologies (ICTs).
Traditionally, literacy was primarily associated with the ability to read and write, but in the digital age, literacy has evolved into a multifaceted concept encompassing a wide range of skills and competencies.
Principle 7: The new literacies of the Internet are increasingly dependent upon the ability to critically evaluate information.
This principle highlights the pivotal role of critical information evaluation in the new literacies of the Internet. It is both a safeguard against the dangers of misinformation and a tool for personal empowerment and informed decision-making.
However, it also presents challenges related to cognitive biases, information overload, and educational disparities. As the digital landscape continues to evolve, the ability to critically evaluate information remains a necessary skill for individuals and societies to navigate the complexities of the online world.
