MATHS GAMES
Today we will work with number concept as well as subtraction.
Activity 1
Take a few dice. Decide on a target number. Roll the dice and see how close the total is to the target number.
Activity 2
Our second theme is subtraction. It is important that children subtract groups of objects, concretely, as part of learning subtraction. Take small groups of objects and show your children how a new group is formed when we take some of the objects away. Say for example: “6 minus 2 makes 4”. If your child is ready, ask them a few simple subtraction sums and see if they can work them out.

This is what we have done at Miki Maths Silver Lakes this week with our GrRR students. 🥳🥳
Patterns help children make predictions because they begin to understand what comes next. They also help children learn how to make logical connections and use reasoning skills. Patterns can be found everywhere in our daily lives and should be pointed out to small children.
Patterns are important because they offer visual clues to an underlying order. If you can unlock a pattern, then you have the ability to alter or shape it in order to achieve some effect. Patterns can also be used as a template that will enable one to quickly analyse a situation and understand how it works.
