What makes or breaks a methodology chapter from an examiner's perspective?
Last Saturday, as part of our Research Meet & Write series,
“What Examiners Are Looking for in Your Thesis,”
Dr Bongie Mcata shared a practical insights into what examiners look for when evaluating methodological rigour.
A strong methodology chapter goes beyond describing the methods used.
It must demonstrate alignment between the research problem, questions, objectives, research design, data collection and analysis—and justify the methodological decisions made.
This series is about more than helping postgraduate students complete their theses.

The ability to define complex problems, analyse evidence, make defensible decisions and communicate findings clearly is valuable across academia, industry, government and society.
