Exam season looks different for everyone — but having the right preparation, support and approach can make all the difference.

Esme shares how she prepared for her exams and what helped her feel ready to take them on.

At Saintsburg, it’s not only about working hard — it’s about learning how to prepare with purpose and confidence.

Brain-friendly learning isn’t about doing more. It’s about studying the same idea in ways that help the brain notice, compare and remember.

In this activity, students explored the same facial features three ways: first through observation, then through focused studies and drawing, building their understanding of shape, proportion, structure, line, tone and detail along the way.

Repetition stays purposeful when each encounter asks the brain to look differently.

Observe. Compare. Draw. Refine.

Same features. Deeper seeing.

What happens when a storm sweeps through the ant kingdom and only one colony can earn the crown?

Our students took on The Great Ant Colony Challenge — a full adventure of teamwork, strategy, creativity and problem-solving. From navigating spider webs and rebuilding maps to designing colony banners, tackling obstacle courses, building new homes and cracking secret messages, every station put a different skill to the test.

Five colonies entered, each determined to prove they had what it takes to become the Queen’s new royal colony.

And with every challenge came plenty of thinking, laughing, cheering and working together.

The Queen was watching… and the crown had to be earned. 👑

Meet Britney!

For Britney, art is about so much more than simply being able to draw — it’s about confidence, creativity and learning to trust the process.

In this Tutor Spotlight, she shares how she helps students move past the “I can’t draw” mindset, encourages them to take creative risks, work through creative blocks and develop an artistic style that feels uniquely their own.

She also chats about the importance of recognising progress along the way and helping students see just how far they’ve come.

And, of course, we get to know a little more about Britney beyond the art room too!

Same pieces. Two completely different molecules.

There are millions of organic molecules out there — and sometimes two of them look almost identical. But something as small as moving a carbon or changing the position of a bond can create an entirely different compound.

So instead of just telling our learners, we gave them a little challenge: using exactly the same resources, create two completely different things. LEGO bricks, paperclips, playdough — nothing added, nothing taken away.
The result? Rings and chains, branches and straight lines. Same pieces every time.

That’s the beauty of organic chemistry — the tiniest change can make the biggest difference. And we call molecules like these isotopes!

Tutor Spotlight: Meet Danika!

For Danika, Biology is about so much more than memorising terms — it’s about understanding the bigger picture and discovering how the world around us works.

In this Tutor Spotlight, she shares what sparks her own sense of curiosity, the Biology concepts that can completely change the way students see the world, and how she helps learners turn knowledge into real understanding.

Get to know the person behind the lessons and the passion she brings to
every student she teaches.

Maths doesn’t always have to stay on the page.

Our AS Maths students explored the chain rule in a more visual, hands-on way — using different colours to represent each layer of a function and make the process of differentiation easier to follow.

By working from the outside layer in, students could actually see what stays the same, what changes, and what comes next.

A simple idea, but a powerful reminder that when learning becomes visual, even complex concepts can start to click.
