Update on Jason.
Jason is entering another important phase of rehabilitation, with noticeable improvements beginning to show across both his physical and cognitive recovery. While healing after a traumatic brain injury remains unpredictable and demanding, there are encouraging signs that his hard work is slowly paying off.
His current progress is consistent with Rancho Level 7 recovery, often referred to as the “Automatic-Appropriate” stage. Jason is becoming more engaged in daily activities, interacting more appropriately with those around him, and showing improved awareness of his environment and routines.
Even so, recovery at this level still comes with ongoing struggles. Jason continues to face:
• Short & long-term memory difficulties
• Mental fatigue and overstimulation
• Challenges with concentration and processing information
• Occasional impulsiveness and frustration
• Difficulty adapting to unfamiliar situations or tasks
• Decision making.
One of the biggest positive developments is that Jason is no longer dependent on a wheelchair. He is now mobilising with assistance and using a walking frame during rehabilitation. Although he still requires support and supervision while walking, this marks significant progress compared to where he was weeks ago.
Jason continues to take part in intensive therapy sessions and is giving remarkable effort each day. Some days are easier than others, but he keeps showing determination to move forward despite the challenges that remain.
His family remains deeply appreciative of the constant prayers, support, and kindness shown throughout this journey. The encouragement surrounding Jason continues to carry both him and his loved ones through this difficult season of recovery.
