Why detailed information on your CV matters ππ
Let's use a Caregiver as an example.
Many people write:
β Caregiver
And nothing else.
π‘ But employers want to understand your actual experience.
πΆ If you cared for children:
Include details such as:
β How many children you looked after
β Their ages
β Full-time or part-time care
β Any special needs, allergies, or medical conditions
β School runs and activities
β Meal preparation
β Homework assistance
β Bathing and bedtime routines
π΅ If you cared for elderly clients:
Include details such as:
β How many clients you cared for
β Their ages
β Medical conditions or special needs
β Mobility assistance
β Medication reminders
β Personal care assistance
β Meal preparation
β Companionship and emotional support
Example:
π΅ Caregiver
Provided daily care for an 82-year-old client
Assisted with mobility and personal care
Prepared meals and monitored dietary requirements
Accompanied client to medical appointments
Provided companionship and support
β¨ The more details you provide, the easier it is for an employer to see your skills and experience.
Remember:
π‘ "Caregiver" is a job title.
π‘ The details show what you are capable of doing.

Why detailed information on your CV matters ππ
One of the biggest mistakes I see is people giving very little information about their work experience.
For example:
π Truck Driver
Many people write:
β "Truck Driver"
And that's it.
π‘ But employers want to know MORE.
A stronger description could include:
β Type of truck driven
β Type of trailers used
β Local or cross-border routes
β Provinces or countries travelled
β Commodities transported
β Years of experience
β Loading and offloading experience
β Vehicle inspections and paperwork
Example:
π Truck Driver
Drove super-link and tanker combinations
Cross-border routes between South Africa, Zimbabwe, Botswana and Zambia
Transported fuel, FMCG products and agricultural goods
Completed daily vehicle inspections and trip documentation
β¨ The more relevant details you provide, the easier it is for an employer to see your experience and suitability for the job.
This doesn't only apply to drivers!
π± Gardeners
π΅ Caregivers
π Retail workers
π General workers
π¨βπ³ Chefs
All jobs need DETAILS, not just a job title.
π‘ Remember:
A job title tells employers what you were.
The details tell employers what you can do.
