A little/huge life update…
The Sakers are relocating to East London at the end of June! 🚛➡️

There are many reasons too complex to explain here, so many Pretoria friends I’d love to look in the eye as we share this news, also a lot of what one would call a “Taylor Swift-like range of emotions”, 😆 but we know that this is the very best thing for our family right now.

We’re looking forward to living simply, living near the ocean and being close to our EL family. 🤍

To our closest friends - Please pop by for a coffee if you want to say bye (for now)! Moving cities is wild so please forgive us for the lack of communication. 😉

9 Years of Motherhoood…

I still clearly remember the day betore Eli was born - and the cruel irony of handing my birth plan to my doctor at our 33 week checkup - only to be told minutes later that I’d likely need to deliver soon due to preeclampsia.

Only with time have I been able to recognize with significance of that moment and how it’s taught me that being a mother requires sacrificial love, a letting go of your ideals and embracing your path in all its messy glory.

I may not know what the heck I’m doing most of the time, but how beautiful and rich life has been with this boy in our world.

Today is a good day - as we celebrate 14 years of marriage!

Besides the horror of seeing how much we’ve aged, I feel gratitude for our marriage and the fact that we genuinely like each other. Circumstances have been particularly hard this past year, but the benefit of wisdom is knowing that no hard season lasts forever.

I love you 🤍

And so begins a new adventure as a podcaster…

I will be hosting a show called “Living In-Between” as a part of the ‘Life with Impact’ podcast channel.
I will be focusing on topics around finding joy and peace despite the imperfections of life. Because sometimes we need encouragement and sometimes we just need to admit it’s really hard! 😉

I’m excited for deeper conversations and tons of learning in the process.

We celebrated 70 years of my incredible dad this weekend. I was able to fly to EL for a surprise visit which is a huge privilege! 🙌🏻

My Dad is the one who has taught me to dream, to work hard, to be kind, to be honest, to love God authentically and how to value things bigger than myself. (And much more)

Thank you for being the greatest Dad I could have ever imagined and I look forward to many more years of deep conversation and hearing the same jokes. 😉
