Simple & soulful guitarist. Paseka is a pure SOUTH AFRICAN PEDI-TRADITIONAL SINGER AND GUITARIST born in Limpopo in a township called Seshego.
Raised by his single grandmother, she breast fed him with singing voices of a unique African soul; he later joined the church band as a drums and keyboards learner. He then discovered the love of guitars and began to take close interest in the instrument itself in the notion of specializing and perfecting his skills.
• 2002- After completing metric he relocated to Tshwane and stayed with his mo
ther to study electrical engineering (2003) and sound engineering (2004) at Tshwane South College and GSF Education in Kensington Johannesburg respectively. Education gained in all respective courses enhanced PASEKA’s love for music and ensured an immense level of skills improvement.
• 2006– Paseka had to put all the acquired knowledge and skill into practice. Driven by the love of music, he started to perform at weddings and churches. His credibility continued to grow and it became evident as he got a privilege of being on the same stage with Themba Masina, the drummer for Benjamin Dube. The relationship between the two talented individuals grew and that eventually lead to Paseka becoming a guitarist of the legendary gospel star. This served as confirmation that there can only be great things to come, as he pursued music as a lifetime career which has only started as a weekend hobby. A combination of guitar skills, hard work, positive attitude, passion and the love for music played an immense role as he started to session and play guitar for artists like Keke, Kelly Khumalo, Kwela Tebza, Solly Mahlangu and Don Laka to name only but a few.
• 2007- The journey had to definitely contribute to his growth in music and that was a proven fact as he started performing with his band, together they performed at casinos like Morula Sun, Meropa Casino, Flamingo, also corporate venues including Arts & Culture events, Standard Bank Joy of jazz and other national events.
• With his band, he’s able to perform popular cover songs by the great legends locally and internationally at any type of venue or event. The likes of Hugh Masekela, Judith Sephuma, Jonathan Butler, Selaelo Selota and so on. Paseka was also involved as a lead guitarist, a music director, an arranger and a songwriter in THSWANE GOSPEL CHOIR’s debut album (MODIMO WA MEHLOLO) which was a multi-nominee in a few categories on CROWN GOSPEL AWARDS.
