Next Soft Skills Workshop planned for October

The Business Brunch at Tshwane South TVET College (Centurion Campus) took place on the 24th of July. The session was valuable and intriguing with industries/companies, SETA's and Governmental Departments participating. The session was opened by Adv. JT Chiloane (TSC Principal) welcoming all the guests, and followed by Ms. Etsuko Ikeda (Chief Adviser Of The Project) presenting on the overview support of the college, Introduction of CoS Programmes presented by Mr. Sabelo Buthelezi (DHET-SPU) and Mr. Naonari Miyoshi (JICA SA office) gave remarks regarding the business brunch and the partnership between the College and JICA.

On the 13th and 14th of June, Mr. Akira Doi (JICA Expert on Softskills) conducted two Training Of Trainers at Tshwane South TVET College (Centurion Campus) with the Student Support Services (SSS) and the Placement Office staff as the main participants. The two topics that were covered include:
1. Industry and Company Research (Common Subject For Entrepreneurship and Employment Support) / Lego Session
2. Seal Appeal (Employment Support)

JICA Headquarters Visit to Northlink TVET College Wingfield Campus
The Japan International Cooperation Agency delegation visited Cape Town, Western Cape to observe the Centre of Specialization Work Shop and JICA Project Office of their capacity development project and meet the College staff involved, on the 14th of June 2023.
Mr. Xolelo Brian Phike Principal, Mr. Russell Cloete F&T Head of Department, Mr. Mark Corneilse Wingfield Campus Manager & Henri Mafoumba CoS Manager welcomed and greeted the international guests on a rainy day.
The international delegation consisted of JICA HQ Senior Director, Africa Department, Mr. Kentaro Akutsu
Assistant Director, Africa Department, Mr. Yousuke Kazama
&, JICA SA Representative, Mr. Naonari Miyoshi , visiting the Fitting and Turning CoS at Northlink Wingfield Campus as part of their tour of Southern Africa to observe ongoing JICA projects and receive feedback , share goodwill and discuss the way forward.
They enjoyed light refreshments including local favourites biltong and rusks and were soon joined by Mr. Riaan Hoffman Assistant Director WIL and toured not only the CoS workshop and project office but Northlink’s electrical department and the UNDP (United Nations Development Program) computer facility a joint project with JICA.
