Lynnwood Ridge Pre-Primary School

Lynnwood Ridge Pre-Primary School The school was established in Lynnwood over 30 years ago - a strong testimony to our ability to provide quality pre-school education.

English Christian preschool of choice for children aged 3–6 years (Gr RRR–R), offering a safe, nurturing environment with highly qualified teachers who support each child’s growth and learning. Lynnwood Ridge Pre-Primary is a non-profit organisation, controlled by a management board elected from the parents of children currently attending the school, and offering a non-denominational Christian-bas

ed, English medium education. This has enabled us to build up a strong sense of tradition as well as an extensive collection of puzzles, perceptual games and books that are so important for children's cognitive development. The school moved into new, modern, purpose-designed premises in July 2004, situated in the safe, secure and well managed grounds of an established church in Lynnwood Ridge. A security guard at the main entrance as well as a closed circuit camera provides the school with the necessary access control

Grade R Coding & Robotics! 🌈

Our learners had so much fun colouring, cutting and solving two puzzles! First, they fitted colourful pieces onto a grid, and then they coloured, cut and rebuilt their very own robot. 🤖✨

This fun activity helped develop problem-solving, spatial awareness, concentration and fine motor skills. 🧠✂️

🌷Spring’s Little Miracle

In the softness of spring,
where new buds begin to grow,
a child’s heart discovers wonder
in all the beauty they know.

May every flower remind us
how precious little lives can be—
growing, blooming, shining brightly,
just as they were meant to be. 🌸🌿

🌷 Come and see how little ones bloom, play and discover with us! 🌷

🐄 From “I can’t” to “I can try!” 🐄

I am SO proud of the Gr RRR and Gr RR children for having a go, trying something new and discovering, “I can!” 🌟
And just look at these adorable cows! 🐄🐄

“My child struggles to hold a pencil properly… what can I do?” ✏️🤔

Before little hands are ready to write letters and numbers, they need lots of opportunities to strengthen, practise and explore!
Today, our little learners became sewing superstars! 🌽🧶 Using wool with a wax-dipped tip as their “needle”, they carefully sewed around their corn cobs.
What looks like simple fun is actually helping to develop fine-motor control, hand-eye coordination, concentration and the little muscles needed for future writing!
🌽🧵
You can try this at home! It is such fun and keeps little ones busy with activities that matter. Learning through play.

Growing Towards School Readiness 🌱

Body awareness is an important part of getting ready for Grade 1. When children understand where their body is, how it moves and how the different parts work together, they build the foundation for good balance, coordination, pencil control and confident movement.

Even a child’s drawings can tell us so much! 🖍️ The way a child draws a person—what they include, how they position body parts and the detail they add—can give us a lovely glimpse into their developing body awareness and overall readiness for the next stage of learning.

Every little drawing is a window into a child’s development. ❤️

These drawings are from little artists 5 years and younger.

Six Bricks Tricks!

In Coding & Robotics, learners worked in pairs using 6 bricks 🤖

One learner built a structure while the partner carefully observed and tried to copy it. This fun activity encouraged teamwork, problem-solving, strong observation skills, and spatial awareness. It also supported early coding skills like sequencing and following instructions.🌈
