An alternative to the NSC (SA matric) is the American GED®. This is a NQF4, and is equivalent to matric without exemption.

I have assisted many older teens and young adults to achieve this qualification, guiding them through the workload, setting daily, weekly and monthly goals to prepare them for the exams.

I am based in Pretoria, but also work online with some of my students, as it is not necessary to attend in person lessons. Everything is done via the internet.

In terms of timeline to matriculate, I find three questions help me to gauge the students end date;
1) did they do maths literacy or pure maths after grade 9?
2) is English their home language?
3) what grade have they already completed in school?
