Art 19 of the Church Order states that: “The churches must take all necessary care to ensure that there are students in Theology who are supported by them”.
The General Synod 2026 confirmed that Candidate Students of the Reformed Churches in South Africa (GKSA), that is, students who are being trained to become Word Ministers within the GKSA, are trained by the Theological School Potchefstroom (TSP). Therefore, all GKSA students – current and prospective students – enroll at the TSP.
The Synod decided that the academic training of new candidate students, i.e. students who are first-years in 2026, can take place either at the Reformed Theological Academy (RTA) or at Mukhanyo Theological College (MTC). First-year students therefore have the choice of enrolling at the RTA or MTC via the TSP.
Prospective first-year students are requested to indicate in writing to the Registrar of the TSP, Mrs. Lieze Coetzer, at which institution each wishes to study. If further clarification is required regarding both institutions and/or the programmes offered at each, further clarification can be requested via the Registrar who will put students in contact with the Rector of the Theological School ([email protected]).

Die Algemene Sinode 2026 het bevestig dat Kandidaatstudente van die Gereformeerde Kerke in Suid-Afrika (GKSA), dit wil sê studente wat opgelei word om Woordbedienaars binne die GKSA te word, deur die Teologiese Skool Potchefstroom (TSP) opgelei word. Derhalwe skryf alle GKSA studente – huidige en voornemende studente – by die TSP in.
Die Sinode het besluit dat wat die akademiese opleiding van nuwe kandidaatstudente betref, dit wil sê studente wat in 2026 eerstejaars is, óf by die Gereformeerde Teologiese Akademie (GTA) óf by Mukhanyo Teologiese Kollege (MTC) kan plaasvind. Eerstejaarstudente het gevolglik die keuse om via die TSP by die GTA of MTC in te skryf.
Voornemende eerstejaarstudente word versoek om per skrywe aan die Registrateur van die TSP, mev. Lieze Coetzer, aan te dui by watter instansie elkeen wil studeer. Indien verdere toeligting benodig word oor beide instansies en/of die programme wat by elkeen aangebied word, kan verdere toeligting via die Registrateur aangevra word wat studente in kontak met die Rektor van die Teologiese Skool sal bring ([email protected]).

In aansluiting by die 2024-tema "Geroep en toegerus vir diens”, bevat hierdie bundel oordenkings uit die Ou- en Nuwe Testament asook uit ons Gereformeerde Belydenisskrifte. Elke oordenking is verryk met vrae vir bespreking met die doel om insig te verdiep en betekenisvolle gesprekke te bevorder. Lesers word herinner aan hul goddelike roeping en hoe God elkeen van ons toerus vir diens in sy koninkryk.
